Cumulative Recurrence Rate and Risk Factors for Recurrent Abdominal Wall Endometriosis after Surgical Treatment in a Single Institution.
This study aimed to evaluate the cumulative recurrence rate and risk factors for recurrent abdominal wall endometriosis (AWE) after surgical treatment. ⋯ The recurrence rate of AWE appears to be correlated with the follow-up duration. There was no statistically significant risk factor for the recurrence of AWE. Unlike ovarian endometriosis, postoperative hormonal treatment does not seem to lower the recurrence of AWE. The findings of the current study may help healthcare providers in counselling and managing patients with AWE.

Effect of a Boarding Restriction Protocol on Emergency Department Crowding.
Access block due to the lack of hospital beds causes crowding of emergency departments (ED). We initiated the "boarding restriction protocol" that limits the time of stay in the ED for patients awaiting hospitalization to 24 hours from arrival. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the boarding restriction protocol on ED crowding. ⋯ The boarding restriction protocol was effective in alleviating ED crowding by reducing the accumulation of boarding patients in the ED during the weekdays.

Exposure of the Middle Rectal Artery and Lateral Ligament of the Rectum Following the Gate Approach during Total Mesorectal Excision.
Controversial surgical anatomical landmarks in the deep pelvis can be visualized and identified using current technologies. Performing the gate approach technique during deep lateral dissection for total mesorectal excision facilitates visualization of the pelvic neurovascular structures following simple dissection steps to preserve the pelvic autonomic nerves and avoid accidental vascular injuries. Here, we discuss laparoscopic exposure of an infrequent disposition of the middle rectal artery anterior to the lateral ligament of the rectum while performing the gate approach.

Trends in Mortality, Treatment, and Costs of Management of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome in South Korea: Analysis of Data between 2010 and 2019.
Despite recent advances in the understanding and management of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), trends in treatment, mortality, and healthcare costs following these advancements remain to be identified. In the present study, we aimed to investigate these trends using real-world data from a national cohort database in South Korea. ⋯ Real-world data for 2010-2019 indicate that patients with ARDS in South Korea have experienced changes in mortality, treatment, and healthcare costs. Despite the increased financial burden, mortality among patients with ARDS has decreased due to advances in disease management.

Meta AnalysisEvaluation of CRISPR-Based Assays for Rapid Detection of SARS-CoV-2: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the pathogen of coronavirus disease 2019. Diagnostic methods based on the clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) have been developed to detect SARS-CoV-2 rapidly. Therefore, a systematic review and meta-analysis were performed to assess the diagnostic accuracy of CRISPR for detecting SARS-CoV-2 infection. ⋯ Studies indicate that a diagnostic method based on CRISPR has high sensitivity and specificity. Therefore, this would be a potential diagnostic tool to improve the accuracy of SARS-CoV-2 detection.
