[Characteristics of cases hospitalized for severe pandemic (H1N1) 2009 in Catalonia].
Influenza pandemics may cause more severe cases. The objective was to determine the characteristics of hospitalized severe cases of pandemic influenza in Catalonia and to study risk factors for admission to intensive care unit (ICU). ⋯ This study confirms the high prevalence of pregnancy, chronic respiratory diseases, diabetes and obesity among pandemic influenza severe cases. Obesity acts as a risk factor for ICU admission and should therefore be considered as an indicator for influenza vaccination.

[Fulfilment of the criteria about scientific authorship in Spanish biomedical and health science journals included in Journal Citation Reports].
Scientific journals have been recognized to have the authority to register both the ownership of ideas and the validity of published knowledge. This paper explores the extent to which the editorial policies of journals contribute to ensure the accuracy of scientific authorship. ⋯ Only 48% of the journals include one or some instructions related with scientific authorship. Results coincide with those of other studies. Despite the existence of an international standard such as URM, authorship criteria provided by journals are scarce and uneven. The assertion that URM is universally well-known by medical journals is questioned.

Review[Professional dance: an appraisal from the occupational health].
Dance is essentially an artistic discipline, with the dancer being exposed, as in any other occupation, to occupational risk factors. This document aims at identifying the characteristics about Professional Dance and its impact on the dancer's health. ⋯ Scientific production gets us closer to the health condition of dance professionals, but doesn't provide an insight on the cause-effect relationship of this profession's pathologies because most studies are merely descriptive. These studies underline the need of a deeper research on nutrition training, its stand before lesions, social and working conditions, and the training of dedicated professionals on occupational health in professional dance.

[Mortality associated to tobacco consumption in Galicia, Spain, 2001-2006].
In developed countries tobacco smoke is the preventable risk factor that causes more deaths. The objective of this study was to assess the impact of tobacco in the Galician adult (aged 35 and over) population from 2001 to 2006. ⋯ At general population level tobacco attributable mortality shows a stable pattern. This is probably related to a slight increase of mortality in young females and a decrease in males' mortality.
