Case Reports[Clinical and epidemiological characteristics of the 6 confirmed human cases with novel influenza A (H7N9) virus infection in Zhejiang].
To explore the clinical spectrum, geographic location of human H7N9 avian influenza as well as the characteristics of population at high risk of infection, in order to develop strategies for the prevention and control of the infection. Clinical and epidemiological characteristics on the 6 confirmed human cases in Zhejiang were also analyzed. ⋯ Acute infection on the respiratory system seemed the main clinical manifestation. Elderly men, especially those with chronic diseases were under high risk of human infection with H7N9 avian influenza. The source of infection might be associated with the exposure to poultry. There was still lack of evidence to confirm the route of person to person transmission on H7N9 avian influenza.

[The impact of temperature on cardiovascular disease deaths in 4 cities, China: a time-series study].
To estimate the effects of temperature on cardiovascular disease (CVD) deaths in 4 cities-Kunming, Changsha, Guangzhou and Zhuhai, from southern part of China. ⋯ The city-specific exposure-response functions appeared to be non-linear. Both high and cold temperatures were associated with increased CVD deaths, but the impact of low temperature was more notable. Cold effect was delayed by several days but last for a longer period than the hot effect did.

[Risk related to the transmission of H5N1 subtype avian influenza virus in the environment of poultry markets in Changsha, China].
To investigate the risk of H5N1 subtype avian influenza virus (AIV) transmission in the poultry market environment in Changsha city. H5N1 antibody levels among the groups related occupational exposure and AIV nucleic acid in the environment of poultry markets were detected. The characteristics of haemagglutinin (HA) genes of H5N1 AIV in the environment were analyzed. ⋯ One of the reasons for H5N1 antibody positive rate of 25.5% among poultry markets workers was that there were large numbers of H5N1 subtype AIV detected in the environment of poultry markets and HA genes of H5N1 subtype AIV in the poultry markets environment carried molecular characteristics of highly pathogenic which could increase the risk for H5N1 subtype AIV transmission in the environment of poultry markets.

[Prevalence and risk factors on the resistance related to second-line drugs among multi-drug resistant tuberculosis cases in Shanghai, China].
To determine the prevalence and risk factors on second-line drug resistance in patients with multidrug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) in Shanghai, China. ⋯ The prevalence of second-line drug resistance among MDR-TB patients was high in Shanghai. MDR-TB patients who were under age of 45 - 59 years and with sputum smear positivity would represent important common risk factors for the resistance to second-line drugs.
