[Evaluation on the effects of education regarding road safety among middle school students].
To evaluate the intervention effects for road traffic accident prevention among middle school students through understanding their knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) on road safety. ⋯ Program on road safety education significantly improved the relative knowledge for middle school student and it exerted positive effects in road safety attitude to some extent. However, no significant effect was found in the improvement on their behavior. Education on road safety should be carried out in the early stage of childhood with newer and more effective intervention approaches.

[Study on the relationship between body mass index and health-related quality of life in middle-aged or older Chinese adults].
To study the association between body mass index (BMI) and the health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in the middle-aged and older Chinese people. ⋯ HRQOL of each domain were different among middle aged and older adults with different BMI classification. Underweight people had poor HRQOL in both physical domain and psychological domain, and obese people had poor physical function but good mental health condition.

[Preliminary study on rapid identification the species of Mycobacteria by PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism based upon hsp65 gene].
To create and evaluate the PCR restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) based on hsp65 gene as a method for rapid identification of Mycobacteria to the species level. ⋯ PCR-RFLP Based upon hsp65 gene can be used for identification of Mycobacterium species, and the method is more rapid and simple and easy-to-use for mycobacterial species identification.

[Analysis on under-5 mortality rate and the leading kinds of diseases in China, from 2000 to 2006].
To study the changing pattern of infant mortality and under-5 mortality rate in China from 2000 to 2006, and to evaluate China's progress in achieving the United Nations' Millennium Development Goal 4. ⋯ The U5MR in China remarkably dropped from 2000 to 2006. Based on data through the surveillance program, China should be able to accomplish the Millennium Development Goals 4 of the United Nations as planned.
