Background: Hydroxocobalamin is frequently administered to patients after injures sustained during structure fires or fires in enclosed spaces, prior to confirming inhalation injury with bronchoscopy. Hydroxocobalamin is generally considered safe. However, over the last several years, the safety of hydroxocobalamin has been called into question by case reports of crystalline nephropathy and interference with renal replacement therapies. ⋯ Conclusions: Most patients who receive at least 1 dose of hydroxocobalamin after ICU admission developed AKI within the first 72 hours, with 42.8% of patients requiring CRRT during the initial resuscitation period. One-third of patients who received hydroxocobalamin after ICU admission died during their hospital stay. Further studies on the relationship between the administration of hydroxocobalamin and the development of AKI and in-hospital mortality are warranted.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic was declared on March 11, 2020, which led to the massive economic and social crisis in the world. Hospitals and healthcare systems faced the most changes during this time. As for any other medical departments, orthopedic departments were affected by this situation. ⋯ Changes in discharging protocols and continuous consultations with infectious diseases specialists brought us the ability to manage these patients. Here in the present paper, we described different strategies of the management of patients in Kashani hospital during COVID-19 outbreak. We hope that our experience of patient's management could help other physicians and hospitals.

Stem cell therapy application is at the vanguard of regenerative medicine across all medical disciplines. Stem cells are of special interest in burn wounds, as they have multiple potential indications for application; including - accelerating wound healing, improving skin regeneration to incorporate skin appendages, reducing fibrosis and improving scarring. ⋯ Stem cells accelerate burn wound healing by inducing neo-angiogenesis, collagen deposition and granulation tissue formation. They modulate the inflammatory response and reduce the risk of infection. They can regenerate skin appendages and halt he zone of stasis in acute burn injury. However with these pre-clinical animal model studies we must be cautious with our interpretation of this novel therapy.

Burns remained a major health problem in most developing countries which have increased the mortality and morbidity among the people. This study aimed to describe the epidemiology and outcomes of burn among females at reproductive age and investigate the factors that associated with mortality during the study period in in Baghdad/Iraq. ⋯ The patients at age 26-45 years have equal hazard ratio of death (HR=1) at all the times of follow-upping. There is not statistically significant have been found at the (p. value =0.486), the 95% CI for the HR includes the null value of 1. As well the causes of burn, the patients with fire cause have a higher hazard of death HR=1.1 with the (p. value =0.012). Half of cases were single. A significant relationship has been found between the marital status and the age groups of the p. value 0.000. Also, a significant result of the intent status with causes of burn at the p. value 0.000.
