Urinary and sexual functions after surgical treatment of penile fracture concomitant with complete urethral disruption.
Penile fracture with concomitant complete urethral disruption is an uncommon urologic disorder. Data about the treatment and outcome measurements of this condition are scarce in the literature. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the long term urinary and sexual functions of patients with penile fracture associated with complete urethral injury after immediate surgical reconstruction. ⋯ On the long term follow-up, most of the patients maintained their normal erectile and voiding functions with no harmful long-term complications. We advocate immediate surgical intervention and reconstruction of both corpora cavernous and urethra as a first line treatment for those patients.

Case ReportsPenile strangulation: an unusual sexual practice that often presents an urological emergency.
Placement of constricting devices around the penis for autoerotic purposes or increasing of sexual performance represents a well-known challenge for urologists. Penile incarceration is a urologic emergency with potentially severe clinical consequences. ⋯ We report three different cases of strangulating objects (metallic ring, metal bearing and plumbing pipe) presented at our emergency department and three different methods of devices extraction practiced. Remove these devices can be challenging and often requires resourcefulness and multidisciplinary approach.

Penile fracture: penoscrotal approach with degloving of penis after Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
Fracture of the penis, a relatively uncommon emergency in Urology, consists in the traumatic rupture of the tunica albuginea of the corpus cavernosum. Examination and clinical history can be highly suspicious of penile fracture in the majority of cases and ultrasonography (USS) can be useful to identify the exact location of the tunical rupture, which is proximal in 2/3 of cases and therefore manageable through a penoscrotal approach. ⋯ This form of imaging is more sensitive than USS at identifying the presence of a tunical tear. The treatment of choice is immediate surgical repair, which allows preserving erectile function and minimizing corporeal fibrosis.

Review Case ReportsSpontaneous rupture of urinary bladder: a case report and review.
Spontaneous rupture of the bladder is a rare event. The clinical presentation shows the signs and symptoms of peritonitis, but the diagnosis is made at the operating table. This event is burdened with a high mortality rate. ⋯ It may have been caused by repeated episodes of acute retention of urine with extreme bladder distension up to 3 liters. It is not easy to think of a bladder perforation in patients presenting signs of peritonitis without a history of bladder cancer or pelvic radiotherapy. A CT with intravesical contrast medium could help the diagnostic orientation.

Case ReportsRenal cell carcinoma and synchronous thyroid metastasis with neoplastic thrombosis of the internal jugular vein: report of a case.
A case of thyroid metastasis of a renal clear cell carcinoma is presented. The fine-needle aspiration cytology pointed out the primary tumor origin. The patient underwent robot-assisted radical nephrectomy and contextual thyroidectomy. ⋯ As a result, thrombectomy and ligation of the internal jugular vein were required. In cases of single synchronous thyroid metastases form RCC, radical surgery should be advisable. Robotic approach allows to associate major surgery procedures, as nephrectomy, with radical metastasectomy.
