Four prematurely born neonates who where mechanically ventilated with CPAP for respiratory distress have developed severe unilateral pulmonary interstitial emphysema. Some particular circumstances can be pointed out in these cases. ⋯ It allowed total improvement of the lung function for the 3 cases who underwent this treatment. Although no major complications have been noticed, it is mandatory to suck out regularly bronchial secretions accumulated in the excluded lung.

Two newborns with congenital oesophageal atresia (Gross type III) were successfully operated on during the neonatal period. The occurrence, several months later, of chronic cough, associated in one infant with impaired pulmonary ventilation, lead to the discovery of a tracheal diverticulum, on the pathway of the primitive tracheo-esophageal fistula. Surgical excision of the diverticulum was followed by complete recovery.

A bone marrow graft was performed in a 3 1/2 year old boy suffering from chronic granulomatous disease. Donor-recipient matching was complete in the ABO, HL-A and M. L. ⋯ Neither graft versus host reaction, nor secondary infection developed. The take of the graft was monitored by the Gm allotypes. Rejection, however, occurred after 2 months.
