Multicenter StudyRisk and outcomes of complications during and after MitraClip implantation: Experience in 828 patients from the German TRAnscatheter mitral valve interventions (TRAMI) registry.
To analyze risk and outcomes of complications during and after MitraClip implantation using multicenter data from the prospective German Transcatheter Mitral Valve Interventions (TRAMI) registry. ⋯ MitraClip implantation appears to be a safe treatment option with low rates of MACCE and clip-specific complications. Nevertheless, MitraClip therapy is not without complications. Careful patient selection and improvements in preventing peri-procedural bleeding have the potential of reducing post-procedural complications and improving outcomes.

Retrievable inferior vena cava filters can be placed and removed with a high degree of success: Initial experience.
Evaluate the success rate of retrievable inferior vena cava filter (IVC) removal in a tertiary care practice. ⋯ Retrievable IVC filters can be removed with a high degree of success. Approximately one in ten retrievable IVC filter removal attempts may fail initially, usually because of significant thrombus within the filter. This does not preclude possible removal at a later date.

Multicenter Study Observational StudyUse and outcome of radial versus femoral approach for primary PCI in patients with acute ST elevation myocardial infarction without cardiogenic shock: results from the ALKK PCI registry.
This study sought to compare the use and outcome of radial versus femoral access in patients treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for acute ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) in clinical practice. ⋯ The radial approach for PCI can be performed with excellent procedural success in selected STEMI patients and is associated with a lower rate of vascular access complications and hospital mortality.

Multiple and aggressive pulmonary vein transcatheter interventions as bridge to transplantation in primary diffuse pulmonary vein stenosis.
Primary diffuse congenital pulmonary vein stenosis (PDPVS) is a severe condition with poor prognosis. No therapeutic strategy has been found to be effective in its management to date. We report the case of a premature child with severe PDPVS who underwent multiple transcatheter interventions as bridge to heart-lung transplantation.

Clinical TrialPrimary percutaneous coronary intervention by drug-eluting balloon angioplasty: the nonrandomized fourth arm of the DEB-AMI (drug-eluting balloon in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction) trial.
To evaluate a paclitaxel drug-eluting balloon (DEB) only strategy in primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI), aiming at a comparison with bare metal stent (BMS) alone, DEB followed by BMS, and paclitaxel eluting stent (PES), as assessed in the randomized Drug Eluting Balloon in Acute ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction (DEB-AMI) trial. ⋯ PPCI by DEB-only in selected patients yielded an angiographic outcome comparable to BMS alone and DEB followed by BMS. PES proved angiographic superiority to DEB-only. DEB-only is therefore a potential treatment alternative during PPCI in patients with contra-indications to drug-eluting stents.
