The indications for nephron-sparing surgery and for minimally invasive surgery are continually expanding. Nephron-sparing surgery, also known as partial nephrectomy, presents a challenge to the minimally invasive surgeon. ⋯ This approach may have potential advantages of including easier excision and suturing. Moderate training is required.

To describe the use of a robotic surgical system for total laparoscopic hysterectomy. ⋯ Total laparoscopic hysterectomy is a complex surgical procedure requiring advanced laparoscopic skills. Tasks like lysis of adhesions, suturing, and knot tying were enhanced with the robotic surgical system, thus providing unique advantages over existing standard laparoscopy. Total laparoscopic hysterectomy can be performed using robotic surgical systems.
