Female patient, forty-two years old, was assaulted during sleep. She was strangulated with a rubber hose. After that, she presents one horizontal strangulation trace by 1.5 cm length at the base of the neck. ⋯ The ophthalmoscopy shows a slow passing retinal edema which recovers at treatment. The visual acuity becomes normal. It is an interesting case due rarity of lesions.
