Many approaches have been proposed for the treatment of bezoars, such as gastroscopic fragmentation, nasogastric lavage or suction, and enzymatic therapy. Because gastroscopic removal has not always been successful, especially in large gastric bezoars, surgical removal by gastrotomy through abdominal incision has been performed. With the advent of laparoscopic surgery, it became possible to remove such lesions without large abdominal incisions. In this case, we present a 62-year-old male who had gastric phytobezoar that was successfully treated with a laparoscopic technique.

Case ReportsLeft pneumothorax secondary to colonoscopic perforation of the sigmoid colon: a case report.
We present here the case of a 75-year-old woman who complained of acute abdominal pain after a diagnostic colonoscopy. Abdominal x-rays demonstrated pneumoperitoneum, whereas chest x-rays showed pneumomediastinum and left pneumothorax. A chest drain was placed and subsequently an exploratory laparoscopy was performed, during which air was found in the subserosa of the sigmoid colon and in the mesosigmoid secondary to perforation of a sigmoid diverticulum. ⋯ The patient was discharged 8 days postoperatively in a good general condition. Although numerous cases of pneumoretroperitoneum and pneumomediastinum secondary to iatrogenic perforation of the colon have been described, reports of pneumothorax are much rarer. We, therefore, discuss the anatomic bases and the possible physiopathologic mechanisms responsible for this clinical complication.

Case ReportsThoracoscopic direct suture repair of thoracic duct injury after thoracoscopic mediastinal surgery.
Iatrogenic chylothorax is an uncommon thoracic duct injury, but well-known and serious complication after thoracic surgeries. Recently, video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery has been applied in the management of postoperative chylothorax and could be indicated earlier. We report herein a case of postoperative chylothorax managed successfully by early thoracoscopic direct suture repair of the site of chylous leak that developed after the thoracoscopic resection of mediastinal mass and surrounding fat with ectopic thymus in a patient with persistent myasthenia gravis with non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Laparoscopic repair in intraperitoneal rupture of urinary bladder in blunt trauma abdomen.
Intraperitoneal rupture of urinary bladder is a common condition associated with pelvic fractures. This is a true surgical emergency managed conventionally by open laparotomy with single layer or double layer repair. We performed total laparoscopic repair of an intraperitoneal rupture of bladder. ⋯ Laparoscopic repair of intraperitoneal rupture of urinary bladder is an effective and minimally invasive technique.
