Case Reports[Subglottic stenosis in Wegener's granulomatosis].
Describe the management of subglottic stenosis in a patient with Wegener's granulomatosis. ⋯ Respiratory obstruction in Wegener granulomatosis can result from subglottic stenosis. In this case, intralesional corticosteroid injection seemed to be a good adjunct to local treatment with an effective long-term result.

To study the circumstances of diagnosis, the supporting factors, the bacteriology, and the therapeutic management of peritonsillar abscesses (quinsy). ⋯ The progression of peritonsillar abscess is favorable in 2-3 days since a local therapeutic act (needle aspiration or drainage) is done associated with an antibiotic and corticoid treatment that is initially intravenous. An emergency tonsillectomy can be proposed in cases of recurrent tonsillitis or peritonsillar abscess.

[Intraoperative auditory monitoring in acoustic neurinoma surgery].
Intraoperative auditory monitoring in acoustic neuroma surgery is used to improve residual hearing. Three techniques are available: monitoring of brainstem auditory evoked potentials, of electrocochleography or of direct eighth nerve compound action potential. The three techniques with their advantages and disadvantages are discussed. The current trend is to monitor brainstem auditory evoked potentials using digital filtering or to monitor the eighth nerve compound action potential.

Comparative Study[Comparison of laryngoscopy and CT-scan results before partial laryngectomy].
Careful assessment of tumor extension is required before partial laryngectomy in order to ensure optimal carcinological safety. Laryngoscopy and CT-scan constitute the explorations of reference. We investigated the value of these two examinations and their association for the evaluation of glottic and supraglottic tumors. ⋯ This study showed that the performance of laryngoscopy and CT-scan for the assessment of glottic and supraglottic tumors can be improved by a better knowledge of the limitations of each type of explorations for this type of assessment. CT-scan currently provides a better topographic assessment of the tumor than endoscopy; even higher performance can be expected with the advent of technological advances.
