[Bibliometric analysis of Revista Médica del IMSS in the Scopus database for the period between 2005-2013].
To analyze the number of articles of Revista Médica del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (Rev Med Inst Mex Seguro Soc) in the Scopus database and describe principal quantitative bibliometric indicators of scientific publications during the period between 2005 to 2013. ⋯ The use of Scopus brings the possibility of analyze with an external tool the visibility of the scientific production published in the Revista Médica del IMSS. The use of this database also contributes to identify the state of science in México, as well as in the developing countries.

Clinical Trial[Isotretinoin and depressive symptoms in patiens with severe and recurrent acne].
Since use of isotretinoin for acne management it has been published controversial results about its association with depression. The objective of this study was to know if use of isotretinoin in patients with severe and recurrent acne (SRA) is associated with depression. ⋯ Treatment with isotretinoin in this sample of patients with severe and recurrent acne produced no increase in depressive symptoms, but improvement, due to the best corporal image self-perception.

Case Reports[Thrombotic vasculopathy probably associated with cocaine contaminated with levamisole: report of 2 cases].
The vasculities are complex diseases. Their cutaneous manifestations are very important and often mirror several pathologies. Cocaine use has been related to both, vasculitis and thrombotic vasculopathy and pseudovasculitis. ⋯ It can be very serious, leading patients to death. This is relevant as levamisole-adultered cocaine seems to be increasingly offered to consumers. Our goal is to report the first two cases in Mexico, which faces an important raise in cocaine use, emphasizing that a high suspicion based on certain characteristics allows for early recognition and adequate treatment.

[Influence of armed conflict on mortality due to traumatic brain injury in children and adolescents].
In the presence an armed conflagration, the mortality behavior of a country is expected to be affected. The aim of this investigation was to assess, in a country with internal warfare, the trend of mortality associated with traumatic brain injury in children and adolescents, which even under social peace conditions, is one of the most common causes of death and disability in this population groups. ⋯ In an armed conflict scenario, mortality behavior varies according to the intensity of warfare actions. Mortality due to traumatic brain injury in children and adolescents can be used as an indicator of the impact of war on civilian population not involved with the armed conflict.

Comparative Study Observational Study[Survival in acute renal failure with conventional therapy or continuous replacement therapy].
To know the survival rate in patients with RIFLE I and II stages on acute renal failure, treated with supportive care or continuous renal replacement therapy with PRISMA machine, at an intensive care unit. ⋯ Because of its accessibility and lower mortality, supportive care should be the initial procedure in patients with acute renal failure in RIFLE I and II stages.
