Efficacy of Physical Therapy on Nociceptive Pain Processing Alterations in Patients with Chronic Musculoskeletal Pain: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.
Chronic musculoskeletal pain is a major health, social, and economic problem. Most of the subjects who suffer from chronic musculoskeletal pain present processes of central sensitization. Temporal summation and conditioned pain modulation are the two most commonly used clinical measures of this. The objective of this review is to evaluate the effects of physical therapy on temporal summation (TS) and conditioned pain modulation (CPM) in patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain. ⋯ Physical therapy produces a slight improvement in central sensitization (CS)-related variables, with TS decreased and CPM increased when compared with a control group in patients with CMP. Only significant differences in TS were identified in the manual therapy subgroup.

Efficacy and Safety of Two Fixed-Dose Combinations of Tramadol Hydrochloride and Diclofenac Sodium in Postoperative Dental Pain.
To evaluate the analgesic efficacy and safety of tramadol hydrochloride/diclofenac sodium fixed-dose combination 25 mg/25 mg (FDC 25/25) and 50 mg/50 mg (FDC 50/50) vs tramadol 50 mg (T50) and diclofenac 50 mg (D50) monotherapies in acute postoperative dental pain. ⋯ Tramadol/diclofenac FDC 25/25 and FDC 50/50 provide superior analgesia for acute pain after third molar extraction than either of the individual components. Minor adverse effects appeared to be related to the higher doses of tramadol.

The Relationship Between Daily Physical Activity and Pain in Individuals with Knee Osteoarthritis.
Investigate the association between physical activity and pain severity in individuals with knee osteoarthritis. ⋯ Associations between physical activity and pain in people with knee osteoarthritis are variable and dynamic. These results reflect the beneficial impact of an active lifestyle and accompanying higher fitness. Yet, the side effect of acute periods of physical activity to transiently exacerbate pain may influence the behavior of some people to avoid activity because of pain.

To determine the effectiveness of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) for the treatment of suspected sacroiliac joint complex (SIJC) pain. ⋯ The literature supporting the effectiveness of PRP for SIJC pain is very low-quality according to the GRADE system. Well-designed RCTs and large cohort studies with consistent selection protocols and reporting characteristics are needed to determine the effectiveness of PRP and BMAC for the treatment of SIJC pain.
