To guide clinicians working in a range of primary care clinical settings on how to provide effective care and support for refugees and newcomers during and after the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. ⋯ The COVID-19 pandemic is amplifying structural inequities. Refugees and newcomers require and deserve effective health care and support during this challenging time. This article outlines practical approaches and advocacy priorities for providing care in the COVID-19 context.

To review the current literature on cutaneous diseases associated with the global coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, and to provide a general overview for family physicians of dermatologic presentations associated with COVID-19. ⋯ The COVID-19 pandemic has increased rates of dermatologic conditions through direct infection, behavioural changes, and association with psychosocial factors. As the incidence of COVID-19 increases, family physicians should be well equipped to diagnose and manage dermatologic presentations as they change within the context of the pandemic.

To test the feasibility of reporting diabetes indicators at a regional and community level in order to provide feedback to local leaders on health system performance. ⋯ This study demonstrates the possibility of reporting diabetes prevalence by individual First Nations reserve communities. Complication rates can be reported by individual community, but estimates are more useful for comparison if the smallest communities are grouped together. Such studies could be replicated across Canada to promote local use of these data for resource planning and monitoring long-term progress of diabetes programs and services.

Guider les cliniciens qui travaillent dans divers milieux cliniques de soins primaires quant aux façons de prodiguer des soins et du soutien efficaces aux réfugiés et aux nouveaux arrivants, durant et après la pandémie de la maladie à coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19). ⋯ La pandémie de la COVID-19 amplifie les iniquités structurelles. Les réfugiés et les nouveaux arrivants nécessitent et méritent des soins de santé et du soutien efficaces durant ces moments éprouvants. Cet article présente des approches pratiques et les priorités en matière de défense des droits pour offrir des soins dans le contexte de la COVID-19.

To understand physician acceptance of new patients, specifically the use of "meet and greets"; and to explore FPs' rationale, beliefs, and processes regarding these appointments. ⋯ Meet and greets before accepting new patients are purposed differently across providers. Some FPs incorporate these meetings ethically; others present challenges to the principles of equity and nondiscrimination. Policy implications exist for how providers admit new patients and what resources might support more equitable access.
