To explore how demographics, pain, psychosocial factors and insomnia relate to the spread of chronic pain. ⋯ Spreading of chronic pain can only partly be explained by the simultaneous levels of insomnia. Female sex, pain duration, pain interference and anxiety appear to have more significant relationships with the spread of pain. Targeting these factors may lead to improvements in treatment and prevention strategies.

To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of transcranial direct current stimulation for fibro-myalgia. ⋯ Anodal transcranial direct current stimulation over the primary motor cortex is more likely than sham transcranial direct current stimulation to relieve pain and improve general fibromyalgia-related function.

Effect of bihemispheric anodal transcranial direct current stimulation for dysphagia in chronic stroke patients: A randomized clinical trial.
To investigate whether bihemispheric anodal transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) with conventional dysphagia therapy could improve swallowing function in chronic stroke patients with dysphagia. ⋯ The bihemispheric anodal tDCS with conventional dysphagia therapy had additional helpful effects on the improvement in swallowing function in chronic stroke patients.
