Pandemics with devastating morbidity and mortality have occurred repeatedly throughout recorded history. Each new scourge seems to surprise governments, medical experts, and the public. The SARS CoV-2 (COVID-19) pandemic, for example, arrived as an unwelcome surprise to an unprepared world. ⋯ Our proposed ethical norms should help future physicians make morally challenging choices during pandemics.

To reveal the number of cancer screenings in primary care during the pandemic period and whether there is a change in screening compared to the pre-pandemic period. ⋯ For cancers that can be prevented by early diagnosis, it is of great importance to increase cancer screenings, which have decreased with the pandemic, to the required level.

Preventing Disordered Eating in Teenage Ballet Students: Evaluation of DancExcellent, a Combined CBT and Nutrition Education Intervention.
Disordered eating (DE) behaviors are relatively common among high-level dancers, especially in classical ballet. At the same time, interventions aimed at reducing DE behaviors in this population are scarce. ⋯ The intervention did not yield any discernible impact. However, it was affected by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which limits our ability to draw conclusions about intervention effectiveness. Evaluations with pupils offer several considerations for future improvements.
