The impact of COVID-19 pandemic on orthopaedic specialty in Malaysia: A cross-sectional survey.
This study aims to investigate further how the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic is affecting orthopaedic surgeon in Malaysia in terms of exposure, general perceptions of risk, and the impact on their current and future practice. ⋯ Direct exposure to treatment of COVID-19 patients among the respondent is low and the main concern was infecting their family member. There are still several surgeons who did not conduct preoperative COVID-19 screening and practice without proper PPE training.

Prevention is the best way to manage a pandemic like COVID-19. The World Health Organization has issued public advice to create awareness by providing people knowledge to prevent/protect them from COVID-19. Hence, the present study was planned to assess knowledge of prevention and its practical use amongst samples from the Saudi Arabian population. It can be used to bring awareness among the masses not only in expanding their knowledge about COVID-19 but also on how to enforce a practicing behavior in relation to the prevention of COVID-19. The study is among the pioneer studies on the issue related to knowledge and practice of the prevention of COVID-19 among Saudis and foreign nationals residing in Saudi Arabia. ⋯ Results reveal that there is a significant relationship between knowledge and practice, but the strength of association is weak. It was found that knowledge and practice of COVID-19 was followed differently in the five regions of Saudi Arabia and the level of education of the respondents influenced their choice of practice to protect themselves from the effects of COVID-19. The study has contributed in the body of literature by examining the inter-relationship between knowledge and practice and their use in prevention of COVID-19 among the Saudi population.

To study the U.S. public's attitudes toward surveillance measures aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19, particularly smartphone applications (apps) that supplement traditional contact tracing. ⋯ Support for public health surveillance policies to curb the spread of COVID-19 is relatively low in the U.S. Contact tracing apps that use decentralized data storage, compared with those that use centralized data storage, are more accepted by the public. While respondents' support for expanding traditional contact tracing is greater than their support for the government encouraging the public to download and use contact tracing apps, there are smaller partisan differences in support for the latter policy.

At a time when access to health care and services for the global population is a concern due to the COVID-19 pandemic, health professionals and their teams are struggling to find a way to adapt their practices. Dental professional organizations and decision-makers are required to provide guidance in a rapidly evolving environment based on the current data, available research, and existing knowledge. ⋯ The aim of this paper is to provide insight and propose future directions concerning the use of teledentistry for dental care in crisis situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the continuous implementation of teledentistry in noncrisis scenarios. This paper provides information to support the use of teledentistry as a promising avenue for dental professionals when possible, during and possibly beyond the outbreak.

Utilizing the Learning Health System Adaptation to guide Family Medicine Practice to COVID-19 response.
COVID-19 supportive quarantine care in the community is managed by primary care practices. There is no current guidance on how a primary care practice with high volumes of patients screened for COVID-19 can re-configure itself to become responsive to the pandemic. We examined Learning Health System guidance from the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine and adapted it to our primary care practice to create an efficient, effective, adaptive response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We suggest evaluating this response in the future for effectiveness and efficiency.
