Observational Study
Impact of emergence delirium on long-term survival in older patients after major noncardiac surgery: A longitudinal prospective observational study.
To test the hypothesis that emergence delirium might be associated with worse long-term survival. ⋯ www.chictr.org.cn; ChiCTR-OOC-17012734.

Modified ex-PRESS technique versus Ahmed glaucoma valve as primary glaucoma surgery for hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis glaucoma.
To compare the efficacy of modified Ex-PRESS technique (ExP) versus Ahmed Glaucoma Valve (AGV) as primary surgery in hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTRv) secondary glaucoma. ⋯ AGV and ExP are safe and effective techniques in the treatment of ATTRv secondary glaucoma. However, AGV's efficacy seems to be more durable.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a significant global health concern, yet comprehensive population-based studies remain limited. This study aimed to evaluate the hospitalization rates, surgical trends, mortality, and reintervention rates for ruptured (r-AAA) and nonruptured (nr-AAA) AAA using data from a national health insurance database. ⋯ AAA predominantly affects older individuals, and the annual incidence shows a declining trend. Since the introduction of EVAR, its use has steadily increased while OSR rates have decreased. Although both EVAR and OSR are associated with reduced mortality in patients with r-AAA, OSR is linked to superior long-term survival outcomes.

Treatment selection for brain arteriovenous malformations (BAVMs) is complicated by BAVM size, location, and hemodynamics. Quantitative digital subtraction angiography is used to quantify the hemodynamic impact of BAVMs on cerebral circulation. This study investigated the association between cerebral circulation time and the complete obliteration (CO) rate of BAVMs after stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS). ⋯ The hemodynamic impact of high-flow BAVM demonstrated by a shortened mCCT is associated with a lower BAVM CO rate after SRS.
