Colorectal cancer is a common cause of cancer-related deaths. About 1/3 of all cases present with distant metastasis, with the liver as the leading site and the lung as the most common extra-abdominal site. ⋯ Local interventions that are applied to highly selected patients may improve the survival of metastatic colorectal cancer patients. A close follow-up after local therapies is important to diagnose recurrent disease because repeated local interventions may be possible to achieve better outcomes.

Platelet-rich gel versus external tissue expansion technique in treating scalp defects: A retrospective study.
Reconstruction of scalp defects is a complicated and challenging procedure for reconstructive surgeons. This retrospective observational study assessed the effectiveness of using platelet-rich gel (PRG) versus the external tissue expansion technique (TET) in reconstructing scalp defects. The clinical data of 24 patients with scalp defects treated with PRG or external TET were collected from September 2018 to March 2022. ⋯ The 2 groups showed no tissue depression or color change after wound healing at follow-up, but the hair growth in the TET group was significantly better than that in the PRG group (P < .05). Compared with TET treatment of scalp defects, PRG is not only simple and painless but also has a low treatment cost and, more importantly, does not involve the risk of surgery and anesthesia. However, using TET to treat scalp defects requires the careful selection of appropriate cases.

To present the efficacy of autologous neurosensory retinal transplantation in macular holes surgery with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. Eleven eyes of 11 patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment associated to a large macular hole were enrolled between January 2019 and January 2021 in the Department A of the Hedi Rais Institute of Ophthalmology (Tunis, Tunisia). All patients underwent a 23 G pars plana vitrectomy. ⋯ No adverse events were registered during the study. Autologous neurosensory retinal transplantation has been efficient to treat macular hole associated to rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. Further multicentric studies with a large number of patients are needed to establish the results of this technique in complex cases.
