Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common cause of chronic liver disease in Western countries, and strongly associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Several studies have shown that hypoglycemic agents are effective for NAFLD combined with T2DM. This study aimed to evaluate the onset characteristics of patients with uremia undergoing maintenance hemodialysis complicated with COVID-19, so as to improve the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment.26 cases were confirmed cases of COVID-19. Confirmed patients with COVID-19 undergoing maintenance hemodialysis in the blood purification center were recruited. The general data of patients, including age, sex, duration of dialysis, and basic diseases, were analyzed. ⋯ With poor cardiac function. They were prone to respiratory failure complicated with heart failure. According to the onset characteristics of this population, early diagnosis and treatment could help reduce the risk of developing a critical illness and control the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic.

The correlation between atmospheric visibility and influenza in Wuxi city, China.
Influenza is an acute respiratory infectious disease that poses a threat to public health. We assessed the association between atmospheric visibility and influenza and influenza-like illness (ILI) in Wuxi city, China. Daily meteorological data, ILI activity, and influenza virus infection rates were collected between 31 December 2012 and 31 December 2017. ⋯ However, we found no association between high visibility and Flu-A. In conclusion, our study contributes novel evidence for the effects of atmospheric visibility on influenza. Protective effect of probiotics in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
To investigate the effects of probiotics on liver function, glucose and lipids metabolism, and hepatic fatty deposition in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Totally 140 NAFLD cases diagnosed in our hospital from March 2017 to March 2019 were randomly divided into the observation group and control group, 70 cases in each. The control group received the diet and exercise therapy, while the observation group received oral probiotics based on the control group, and the intervention in 2 groups lasted for 3 months. ⋯ After the treatment, ALT, AST, GGT, TC, TG, HOMA-IR, NAS, and conditions of fecal flora in the observation group were better than those in the control group, and the observation group was better after treatment than before. All these above differences were statistically significant (P < .05). Probiotics can improve some liver functions, glucose and lipids metabolism, hepatic fatty deposition in patients with NAFLD, which will enhance the therapeutic effects of NAFLD.

COVID-19 is a global public health emergency. At present, there is no highly effective medicine for the prevention and treatment of 2019-nCoV. Western medicine for COVID-19 is mainly based on symptomatic support therapy. Chinese herbal medicine has been used to prevent infectious diseases for thousands of years in China. Western medicine routine treatment combined with Chinese herbal medicine is an alternative clinical option but lacks evidence-based medical evidence. The systematic review protocol aims to formulate a research plan that can evaluate the efficacy and safety of western medicine routine treatment combined with Chinese herbal medicine for COVID-19. ⋯ CRD42020190106.
