Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is the most common non-cancerous disease of the prostate and leads to lower urinary tract symptoms in middle-aged and elderly males. Fire needle therapy could improve the lower urinary tract symptoms associated with mild-moderate BPH in clinical practice. The aim of the present pilot study is to assess the preliminary effects of fire needle therapy on mild-moderate BPH. ⋯ The present study will provide evidence of the preliminary effects of fire needle therapy on mild-moderate BPH and indicate an optimal sample size for future studies.

Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Dynesys system vs posterior decompression and fusion for the treatment of lumbar degenerative diseases.
The Dynesys dynamic stabilization system is an alternative to rigid instrumentation and fusion for the treatment of lumbar degenerative disease. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical efficacy between Dynesys and posterior decompression and fusion for lumbar degenerative diseases. ⋯ Our meta-analysis suggests that Dynesys system acquires comparable clinical outcomes compared to fusion in the treatment of lumbar degenerative diseases. Moreover, compared with fusion, Dynesys could remain ROM of surgical segments with less operation time, blood loss, length of stay, adjacent-segment degeneration, and lower complication. Further studies with large samples, long term follow up and well-designed are needed to assess the two procedures in the future.

As an antagonist for the WNT signal passway, dickkopf-1(DKK1) have a great important role in the occurence and development of various type cancer. The present paper performed a meta-analysis to evaluate the predictive significance of DKK1 in cancer. To assess the relationship between the expression of DKK1 and prognostic role in human cancers, a total of 16 articals were screened from the multiple online databases (Pubmed, EMBASE, CNKI, Web of Science and Google Scholar) in our study. ⋯ In stratified analyzes, the higher expression of DKK1 could reduced the OS in patients with breast cancer, digestive system cancer and urogenital system cancer, but not patients with the lung cancer. It also showed that higher expression of DKK1 was significantly associated with shorter progression-free survival, disease-free survival and time to recurrence in cancer patients. The present study indicate that higher expression of DKK1 predict an unfavorable clinical outcome in patients with breast cancer, digestive system cancer and urogenital system cancer.

Pragmatic Clinical Trial
Evaluation on the effect of acupuncture on patients with sepsis-induced myopathy (ACU-SIM pilot study): A single center, propensity-score stratified, assessor-blinded, prospective pragmatic controlled trial.
Sepsis-induced myopathy (SIM) is a disease that causes motor dysfunction in patients with sepsis. There is currently no targeted treatment for this disease. Acupuncture has shown considerable efficacy in the treatment of sepsis and muscle weakness. Therefore, our research aims to explore the effects of acupuncture on the improvement of muscle structure and function in SIM patients and on activities of daily living. ⋯ There is currently no research on the therapeutic effects of acupuncture on SIM. The results of this study may contribute to new knowledge regarding early muscle atrophy and the treatment effect of acupuncture in SIM patients, and the results may also direct new approaches and interventions in these patients. This trial will serve as a pilot study for an upcoming multicenter real-world study.

Psoriasis is a common, chronic, and recurrent skin inflammatory disease, with psoriasis vulgaris considered as the most prevalent type of psoriasis. Chinese herbal bath, a type of traditional Chinese medicine, is an external therapy widely used to treat psoriasis vulgaris in China, and it has achieved satisfactory clinical effects. However, there are few studies evaluating the safety and efficacy of Chinese herbal bath compared with other external therapies administered under similar conditions. The purpose of this study is to comprehensively evaluate the clinical safety and efficacy of Chinese herbal bath in the treatment of psoriasis vulgaris through a systematic evaluation of the literature, so as to provide a reference basis for future clinical applications. ⋯ This study will provide a theoretical basis for the standardized administration of Chinese herbal bath.
