ReviewNonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug-exacerbated respiratory disease: diagnosis and current management.
Nonsteroidal anti‑inflammatory drug-exacerbated respiratory disease (N‑ERD) is a unique and often clinically severe disease affecting a subgroup of adults with asthma, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis, and respiratory reactions with exposure to all cyclooxygenase 1-inhibiting nonsteroidal anti‑inflammatory drugs. N‑ERD has a high disease burden and is estimated to affect 7% of adults with asthma and 30% of patients who have both asthma and nasal polyps. The disease is underdiagnosed and underrecognized by physicians on a routine basis, which leads to a delay in appropriate management. The goal of this review is to focus on the disease recognition, diagnosis, and different modes of up‑to‑date therapies, including medical management, surgical intervention, aspirin desensitization, and biologic therapy.

Currently, theoretical studies on exosomes in respiratory diseases have received much attention from many scholars and have made remarkable progress, which has inestimable value and potential in future clinical and scientific research. Unfortunately, no scholar has yet addressed this field's bibliometric analysis and summary. We aim to comprehensively and profoundly study and explore the present situation and highlights of exosome research at the stage of respiratory diseases and to provide meaningful insights for the future development of this field. ⋯ The present research situation and relevant hotspots of the area were analyzed through bibliometric studies on exosomes in respiratory diseases. The research development in this field has a considerable upside, and the exosome's function in diagnosing, treating, monitoring, and prognosis of respiratory illnesses cannot be taken lightly. Moreover, we believe the research results will bring the gospel to many patients with clinical respiratory diseases shortly.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has become a major global concern, seriously affecting the lives and health of the population. This retrospective study aimed to investigate changes in permanent tooth injury in the Xi'an area of China influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic. The medical records of 466 dental emergency patients in 2019 and 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. ⋯ The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic brought a certain change in the epidemiological characteristics of dental injury in the Xi'an area of China. Dental emergency departments should provide even more timely and effective treatments. It is also necessary to strengthen public education, with emphasis on the importance of timely medical treatment and regular follow-up for dental trauma.

Impact of smoking on outcomes in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention.
Smoking is a well‑established risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. However, in patients with ST‑segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), smoking has been associated with better clinical outcomes; this phenomenon became known as the "smoker's paradox." ⋯ In the present large‑scale, registry‑based analysis, the observed lower 36‑month crude rates of adverse events among the smokers, as compared with the nonsmokers, might be partially explained by a significantly lower burden of traditional risk factors and younger age of the smokers. After accounting for age and other baseline differences, smoking was found to be one of the independent risk factors for 36‑month mortality.
