The effect and safety of endovascular treatment of basilar tip aneurysms associated with moyamoya disease are unknown. This study was to investigate the safety and effect of endovascular treatment of basilar tip aneurysms associated with moyamoya disease. Patients with moyamoya disease concurrent with basilar tip aneurysms were retrospectively enrolled and treated with endovascular embolization. ⋯ Aneurysm recurrence was found in 4 patients (14.81%). The clinical outcome was modified Rankin Scale 0 to 2 in all 27 patients, not significantly different from that at discharge. Endovascular embolization can be performed safely and effectively for basilar tip aneurysms associated with moyamoya disease even though more advanced embolization techniques are necessary.

Observational Study
Observational study of financial and non-financial conflicts of interest among the Japanese government advisory board members concerning coronavirus disease 2019.
This cross-sectional analysis aimed to assess the extent of conflicts of interest among the Japanese government coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) advisory board members and elucidate the accuracy of conflicts of interest (COI) disclosure and management strategies. Using the payment data from all 79 pharmaceutical companies in Japan between 2017 and 2019 and direct research grants from the Japanese government between 2019 and 2020, we evaluated the extent of financial and non-financial COI among all 20 Japanese government COVID-19 advisory board members. The Ethic Committee of the Medical Governance Research Institute approved this study. ⋯ This study found that the Japanese government COVID-19 advisory board had financial and non-financial COI with pharmaceutical companies and the government. Furthermore, personal communication received as part of this research indicated that there were no rigorous COI management strategies for the COVID-19 advisory board members. Any government must ensure the independence of scientific advisory boards by implementing more rigorous and transparent management strategies that require the declaration and public disclosure of all COI.

Deciphering the genomic profiles and tumor microenvironment (TME) in large cell carcinomas of the lung (LCC), large cell neuroendocrine of the lung (LCNEC), and small cell lung cancer (SCLC) might contribute to a better understanding of lung cancer and then improve outcomes. Ten LCC patients, 12 LCNEC patients, and 18 SCLC patients were enrolled. Targeted next-generation sequencing was used to investigate the genomic profiles of LCC, LCNEC, and SCLC. ⋯ Furthermore, high index of CD68+ CD163+ (TILs within cancer cell nests/ TILs within cancer cell nests and in cancer stroma, P = .041, 548 days vs not reached) and CD163+ TILs (P = .041, 548 days vs not reached) predicted a shorter OS in SCLC. Our findings revealed the distinct genomic profiles and TME contexture among LCC, LCNEC, and SCLC. Our findings suggest that stratifying LCNEC/SCLC patients based on TME contexture might help clinical disease management.

Epidermal growth factor receptor-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) are commonly used in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer. However, patients will inevitably develop resistance to EGFR-TKIs in the long-term treatment process. In this paper, we report a case of small cell lung cancer transformation after EGFR-TKIs treatment in lung adenocarcinoma. We summarize the characteristics of this case and the treatment after transformation, and emphasized the repeat biopsy and dynamic monitoring its genetic mutation was necessary. ⋯ Our case highlights that if a patient has rapid disease progression, increase of serum neuron-specific enolase, and TP53 and Rb1 inactivation during EGFR-TKIs treatment, we should be alert to the pathological type transformation to small cell lung cancer.
