Left Ventricular Mass Index in End-Stage Renal Disease Patients during Hemodialysis and Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis.
One of the primary reasons for high mortality in end-stage renal disease (ESRD) is cardiovascular disease in patients with renal replacement therapy (RRT). Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) significantly predicts mortality and cardiovascular events. ⋯ The LVH of end-stage renal disease patients with HD treatment is worse than CAPD treatment after a follow-up in one year. Dialysis by periodic hemodialysis and anemia treatment that fails to achieve the goal are risk factors associated with increased progression of LVMI in patients with ESRD.

Kidney transplantation is often regarded as the preferred therapy for end-stage renal disease. Several surgical procedures have been developed to reduce postoperative donor complications, while maintaining kidney quality. ⋯ Laparoscopic donor nephrectomy can be safely performed at centers with expertise in laparoscopic surgery. Laparoscopic donor nephrectomy has better outcomes than open donor nephrectomy in terms of length of hospital stay, duration of urinary catheterization, operating time, and blood loss.

To investigate the effect and efficacy of traditional Chinese and western medicine combined with lung rehabilitation training on pulmonary function in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) complicated with chronic cor pulmonale. ⋯ Traditional Chinese and western medicine combined with lung rehabilitation training displayed better results on lung function and curative effect than conventional western medicine combined with lung rehabilitation training in patients with COPD complicated with chronic cor pulmonale (Tab. 8, Ref. 43). The role of vitamin D (VD) in the etiopathogenesis of autoimmune diseases (AI) is extensively studied. However, its association with autoimmune thyroid disease (AITD) is still controversial. AIM of this study was to assess the relationship between the vitamin D status and thyroid autoimmunity in Slovak premenopausal women with newly diagnosed AITD. ⋯ Authors conclude that VD insufficiency is common in Slovak premenopausal women independently of the presence of AITD. Vitamin D insufficiency is not associated with thyroid autoimmunity in patients with early diagnosis of AITD (Tab. 3, Ref. 31). Numerous surveys using different techniques have been conducted in recent years to accurately classify Alzheimer's disease (AD). This research emphasized the identification of AD through neuroimaging data. However, it is important to identify symptoms as soon as possible when the disease-modifying medications function best during infection before a permanent cognitive impairment develops. ⋯ Experiments are being conducted on the Alzheimer's Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) dataset, and the proposed system achieves the 98.32 % accuracy level (Tab. 6, Fig. 4, Ref. 34).
