The Effect of Erector Spinae Plane Block With and Without Addition of Magnesium on Relief of Pain from Post-herpetic Neuralgia.
The best tool for management of postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) is a matter of debate. The use of ultrasound-guided erector spinae plane block (ESPB) in patients with PHN may decrease pain severity and the need for analgesics. ⋯ ESPB with or without adding magnesium sulphate is an effective pain management tool for cases of PHN. It leads to a significant decrease in pain score and analgesic requirements.

Randomized Controlled TrialSerratus Anterior Plane Block in Pediatric Patients Undergoing Thoracic Surgeries: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
This study was designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of serratus anterior plane block (SAPB) as an analgesic technique for thoracotomies in pediatric patients. ⋯ Serratus anterior plane block can provide a safe, effective, and easy-to-perform regional technique for children undergoing thoracotomies.

Safety of Ultrasound-Guided Transversus Thoracis Plane Block in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery: A Retrospective Cohort Study.
Ultrasound-guided fascial plane blocks are associated with good postoperative analgesia after pediatric cardiac surgery, with improved safety profile. To the best of the authors' knowledge, this study was the first with the primary aim of assessing the safety profile of transversus thoracis plane (TTP) block in pediatric patients who underwent open cardiac surgery. ⋯ The above complications were noted in patients who received TTP block, and further prospective studies with more patients are required to comment on its safety.

Paediatric Lower limb Peripheral Nerve blocks: indications, effectiveness and the incidence of adverse events.
While the proportion of pediatric anesthetics with regional anesthesia in pediatric patients has steadily increased, there are only a few series that describe the use of lower limb peripheral nerve blocks in children. Our aim was to describe the indications, anesthetic approach, and complications associated with lower limb blocks in children undergoing orthopedic surgery in a center with a large caseload of complex patients. ⋯ An increased risk of perioperative peripheral nerve injury is associated with pediatric tibial osteotomy for congenital deformity. While popliteal sciatic nerve block was not directly implicated in the nerve injury the presence of a prolonged sensory block can delay early recognition and treatment of peripheral nerve injury.

Although combined thoracic paravertebral blockade (TPVB)-general anesthesia (GA) could improve pain control compared to GA alone after thoracoscopic lung cancer surgery, it has not been established whether this improvement in pain control could reduce associated adverse outcomes. Thus, this study aimed to explore the association between TPVB usage and adverse outcomes after thoracoscopic lung cancer surgery. ⋯ The usage of TPVB may be a feasible and adjustable approach to reduce the rates of PPCs and POAF and associated LOS in thoracoscopic lung cancer surgery.
