[Efficacy of erector spinae block versus retrolaminar block for postoperative analgesia following posterior lumbar surgery].
To compare the effect of erector spinae plane block and retrolaminar block for relieving acute pain after posterior lumbar surgery. ⋯ Ultrasound-guided RLB has better analgesic effect than ESPB for management of perioperative pain following posterior lumbar surgery.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Continuous Adductor Canal Block used for postoperative pain relief after medial Unicondylar Knee Arthroplasty: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial.
Peripheral nerve block and local infiltration analgesia (LIA) provide good analgesia after knee replacement. This study evaluated the additional analgesic efficacy of continuous adductor canal block (ACB) added to single-dose LIA after medial unicondylar knee arthroplasty (UKA). We hypothesized ACB would lower pain scores and facilitate postoperative ambulation. ⋯ Continuous adductor canal block added to single-dose LIA offered better analgesia and facilitated ambulation without motor weakness after medial UKA.

Education in regional anaesthesia covers several complex and diverse areas, from theoretical aspects to procedural skills, professional behaviours, simulation, curriculum design and assessment. The objectives of this study were to summarise these topics and to prioritise these topics in order of research importance. ⋯ Researchers and educators can use these identified topics to assist in planning and structuring their research and training in regional anaesthesia education.

Case Reports
Bi-level erector spinae plane block for the control of severe back pain related to vertebral metastasis.
Pain is the most common reason for emergency department visits. Traditionally, pain management has been provided by narcotics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and non-narcotics. Erector spinae plane block is a new interfascial plane block that has been successfully used for acute pain control in different surgeries. ⋯ The pain scores decreased under 2 within 30 min and none of the patients required additional analgesic agent for 24 hours. Previously erector spinae plane block was used for rib and spine fractures in emergency department. Different from previous cases, we performed bi-level blocks to cover a larger area and the block abruptly and effectively reduced pain scores of the patients with breast cancer.
