Review Observational Study
Selection of the appropriate treatment for the combination of interstitial lung disease and lung cancer: A retrospective observational study.
Interstitial lung disease (ILD) independently heightens the risk of lung cancer (LC), often necessitating chemoradiotherapy (CRT) due to advanced disease stages. However, CRT may compromise survival through complications such as ILD exacerbation or radiation pneumonitis. The aim of this study was to determine the optimal surgical or nonsurgical treatment approaches for patients with concurrent ILD and LC. ⋯ No statistically significant difference was determined between the groups with respect to the 24- and 48-month survival rates (P = .100). Although no disparity was found in 2- and 4-year survival rates, there were seen to be advantages in survival and quality of life with the addition of radiotherapy to regions aligning with surgical margins for LC patients with ILD, evaluated as radiological N0, undergoing wedge resection. This underscores the need for personalized treatment strategies to balance effective cancer control and to minimize ILD-related complications.

Multicenter Study
Pulmonary Physician Consultancy in Emergency Services in Turkiye (PuPCEST) - a cross-sectional multicenter study.
Pulmonology is one of the branches that frequently receive consultation requests from the emergency department. Pulmonology consultation (PC) is requested from almost all clinical branches due to the diagnosis and treatment of any respiratory condition, preoperative evaluation, or postoperative pulmonary problems. The aim of our study was to describe the profile of the pulmonology consultations received from emergency departments in Turkiye. ⋯ The majority of patients were hospitalized and treated conservatively. It may be suggested that most of the applications would be evaluated in the pulmonology outpatient clinic which may result in a decrease in emergency department visits/consultations. Thus, improvements in the reorganization of the pulmonology outpatient clinics and follow-up visits may positively contribute emergency admission rates.

Cellular blue nevus is an uncommon neoplasm in the spine. ⋯ Invasive cellular blue nevus of the spine can be wrongly diagnosed as spinal meningeal melanocytoma and meningeal melanoma due to its special cell behavior and rarity. Therefore, it is important to understand its pathological and clinical characteristics to avoid over-treatment.

This study aimed to explore the potential application value of acupuncture in alleviating the impact of long COVID on women's menstrual cycles, by investigating the occurrence of long COVID among female college students, its effects on menstruation, and the intervention of acupuncture. This cross-sectional study surveyed female college students with a history of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) before April 10, 2023. A questionnaire was used to analyze demographic characteristics, post-COVID sequelaes, duration of symptoms, and treatments received during that period. ⋯ Additionally, 17 individuals opted for acupuncture treatment following the onset of COVID-19 (20.00%), which resulted in less impact on their menstrual cycle (41.18% vs 64.71% without receiving acupuncture, OR = 2.62), menstrual period duration (41.18% vs 64.71%, OR = 2.62), menstrual flow (47.06% vs 69.18%, OR = 2.52), and the color of menstrual blood (41.18% vs 63.24%, OR = 2.46) among these patients. Long COVID had a certain impact on menstruation. Acupuncture potentially alleviates the clinical symptoms of long COVID and reduces its impact on women's menstrual cycle, thus having potential therapeutic value in the treatment of long COVID.

Lysosome-dependent cell death (LCD) plays a significant role in overcoming cancer apoptosis and drug resistance. However, the relationship between LCD-associated genes (LCDGs) and glioma, including glioblastoma (GBM) and low-grade glioma (LGG), remains unclear. In this study, an LCDGs risk signature was constructed for glioma patients by utilizing 4 algorithms (Extreme Gradient Boosting, Support Vector Machine, Random Forest, and Generalized Linear Models) to identify core LCDGs. ⋯ Mechanistic analyses suggested a strong relationship between LAPTM4A and immune cell infiltration, as well as several drug sensitivities. In conclusion, our findings suggest that LAPTM4A may serve as a potential oncogene associated with LCD in pan-cancer, particularly in glioma, GBM, and LGG. These findings provide important insights for individualized treatment of glioma.
