Advantages of using touch-controlled, minimally invasive implantation technique on soft tissue in the aesthetic zone of maxillary anterior teeth.
Endosseous implant is an ideal treatment option for the treatment of denture defects and omissions. However, how to maintain the perfect gum contour of patients has been an important research topic for stomatologists and has attracted much attention. The objective of this study was to explore the advantages of minimally invasive touch-controlled implantation in maintaining soft tissue morphology in the aesthetic area of maxillary anterior teeth. ⋯ The H values (the distance from the labial edge of the implant healing cap to the lowest gingival margin), 6 weeks after surgery, of 2 groups were 2.69 and 3.05, respectively, P = .023. There was a significant difference in patient satisfaction between 2 groups 24 hours after surgery (P < .001). Touch-controlled minimally invasive implantation has shorter operative time and lesser bleeding, postoperative pain, and gingival recession than traditional flap implantation, which is conducive to the preservation of gingival shape.

PCI in Patients Undergoing Transcatheter Aortic-Valve Implantation.
The benefit of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with stable coronary artery disease and severe aortic stenosis who are undergoing transcatheter aortic-valve implantation (TAVI) remains unclear. ⋯ Among patients with coronary artery disease who were undergoing TAVI, PCI was associated with a lower risk of a composite of death from any cause, myocardial infarction, or urgent revascularization at a median follow-up of 2 years than conservative treatment. (Funded by Boston Scientific and the Danish Heart Foundation; NOTION-3 ClinicalTrials.gov number, NCT03058627.).

Trastuzumab Deruxtecan after Endocrine Therapy in Metastatic Breast Cancer.
Outcomes in patients with hormone receptor-positive metastatic breast cancer worsen after one or more lines of endocrine-based therapy. Trastuzumab deruxtecan has shown efficacy in patients with metastatic breast cancer with low expression of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) after previous chemotherapy. ⋯ Among patients with hormone receptor-positive, HER2-low or HER2-ultralow metastatic breast cancer who had received one or more lines of endocrine-based therapy, treatment with trastuzumab deruxtecan resulted in longer progression-free survival than chemotherapy. No new safety signals were identified. (Funded by AstraZeneca and Daiichi Sankyo; DESTINY-Breast06 ClinicalTrials.gov number, NCT04494425.).

Edoxaban Antithrombotic Therapy for Atrial Fibrillation and Stable Coronary Artery Disease.
Despite consistent recommendations from clinical guidelines, data from randomized trials on a long-term antithrombotic treatment strategy for patients with atrial fibrillation and stable coronary artery disease are still lacking. ⋯ In patients with atrial fibrillation and stable coronary artery disease, edoxaban monotherapy led to a lower risk of a composite of death from any cause, myocardial infarction, stroke, systemic embolism, unplanned urgent revascularization, or major bleeding or clinically relevant nonmajor bleeding at 12 months than dual antithrombotic therapy. (Funded by the CardioVascular Research Foundation and others; EPIC-CAD ClinicalTrials.gov number, NCT03718559.).

Noninvasive targeted modulation of pain circuits with focused ultrasonic waves.
Direct interventions into deep brain circuits constitute promising treatment modalities for chronic pain. Cingulotomy and deep brain stimulation targeting the anterior cingulate cortex have shown notable improvements in the unpleasantness of pain, but these interventions require brain surgeries. In this study, we have developed an approach that can modulate this deep brain affective hub entirely noninvasively, using low-intensity transcranial-focused ultrasound. ⋯ The stimulation was well tolerated, and no adverse events were detected. Side effects were generally mild and resolved within 24 hours. Together, the direct, ultrasonic stimulation of the anterior cingulate cortex offers rapid, clinically meaningful, and durable improvements in pain severity.
