To describe the demographic/clinical characteristics, treatment patterns, and mortality among patients hospitalized with COVID-19 during Omicron predominance by immunocompromised and high-risk status. ⋯ COVID-19 imposed a large healthcare burden, particularly among immunocompromised patients and those with underlying high-risk conditions during Omicron period. Low utilization of outpatient COVID-19 treatments was observed in these high-risk populations eligible for treatment. Continued surveillance and research regarding COVID-19 variants and the impact of outpatient treatment options on high-risk patients is crucial to inform and guide public health action.

A 74-year-old woman developed acute severe colitis after receiving her sixth mRNA vaccine against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). On the day after vaccination, she experienced bloody diarrhea, abdominal pain, and high-grade fever. Laboratory tests revealed leukocytosis and increased C-reactive protein. ⋯ Her symptoms and laboratory findings improved immediately after the initiation of prednisolone therapy. Pre-discharge total colonoscopy revealed mucosal repair in most of the colon. Clinicians should acknowledge that severe acute colitis can occur after COVID-19 vaccination.

Despite advancements in understanding the interplay between systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), cardiovascular disease and COVID-19, challenges and knowledge gaps persist. This study aimed to characterize the cardiovascular profiles of SLE patients hospitalized with COVID-19 and to evaluate the influence of SLE on the development of cardiovascular complications. ⋯ SLE patients hospitalized for COVID-19 are at high risk of having an unfavorable baseline cardiovascular profile and are more prone to MACEs and adverse noncardiovascular outcomes during hospitalization.
