The use of tirofiban as an adjunct to endovascular therapy (EVT) for acute ischemic stroke has been controversial. We aimed to assess the differences in safety and efficacy of EVT adjuvant to tirofiban in patients with anterior circulation stroke (ACS) and posterior circulation stroke (PCS). ⋯ In acute ischemic stroke patients undergoing EVT, tirofiban improves good functional outcomes in ACS patients and increases recanalization rates in PCS patients on the 1 hand, reduces mortality, and does not increase the risk of symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage on the other. Tirofiban is safe and effective in both anterior circulation stroke and posterior circulation stroke patients undergoing EVT. More large multicentre randomized controlled studies are needed in the future.

The effectiveness of vitamin D3 supplementation in improving functional outcome of non-surgically treated symptomatic lumbar spinal stenosis: Randomized controlled clinical trial - Pilot study.
Although vitamin D is one of the essential nutrients associated with musculoskeletal system function, there is no standard treatment method for vitamin D deficiency. This study aimed to investigate the effects of vitamin D supplementation on the improvement in symptoms, functional recovery of the spine, and changes in the quality of life in patients with spinal stenosis. ⋯ If a vitamin D deficiency that does not require surgical treatment exists in patients with lumbar spinal stenosis, high-dose vitamin D injections can improve lower back pain, which is the main symptom of lumbar spinal stenosis, as well as the functional outcomes of the spine and quality of life.

Effects of acute moderate-intensity aerobic exercise on cognitive function in E-athletes: A randomized controlled trial.
E-sports require athletes to have high-speed reflexes and excellent memory skills. Whereas a single session of aerobic exercise has been shown to improve cognitive function, this paper aims is to investigate the effects of acute moderate-intensity aerobic exercise on the cognitive function of e-sports players and its time-course characteristics. ⋯ Acute moderate-intensity aerobic exercise significantly enhanced the speed accuracy, visual reaction time, and instantaneous memory of eSports players, and the effect could be extended up to 30 minutes after exercise.

Cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) is a chronic global brain disease mainly involving small blood vessels in the brain. The disease can be gradually aggravated with the increase of age, so it is the primary cause of brain dysfunction in the elderly. With the increasing aging of the world population and the high incidence of cerebrovascular risk factors, the incidence of CSVD is increasing day by day. ⋯ Currently, no clear preventive measures or treatments exist to improve the condition. With the development of magnetic resonance imaging, CSVD has become more and more recognized and the detection rate has gradually improved. This paper reviews the research progress of magnetic resonance imaging and cognitive impairment, gait impairment, affective impairment, urination disorder, swallowing disorder, and other disorders to provide a useful reference for the early diagnosis and treatment of CSVD and expand new ideas.

Bladder cancer (BCa) is a common cancer worldwide and is often linked with obesity-related comorbidities, but little is known about the underlying genetic mechanisms. To investigate these mechanisms, we used various quantitative tools, including conditional quantile-quantile (Q-Q) plots, conditional false discovery rate (cFDR), and conjunctional conditional false discovery rate (ccFDR), to explore the pleiotropic enrichment of risk loci between BCa and obesity-related traits. We also performed an expression quantitative trait locus (eQTL) analysis to assess the relationship between shared risk loci and gene expression. ⋯ The functional annotation indicated that the conditional risk genes mainly participated in the regulation of gene silencing. Our study provided evidence of pleiotropic enrichment between BCa and 8 obesity-related traits, and we identified potential genetic mechanisms underlying this relationship. These findings may help in developing targeted clinical treatments for BCa.
