To systematically evaluate the correlation between serum osteocalcin levels and cognitive function status in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D) patients. ⋯ Based on a meta-analysis of included studies, we concluded that there is a moderately strong positive correlation between serum osteocalcin levels and patients' cognitive function in T2D. An intervention to increase serum osteocalcin levels can contribute to delaying and improving cognitive decline in patients with T2D.

Previous studies have reported pain reduction after Korean medicine (KM) treatment in patients with fractures. However, these studies were limited by small sample sizes and short observation periods. To address these limitations, we aimed to analyze the outcomes of patients with traumatic fractures who received integrative KM treatment and investigate their long-term progress through follow-up observations. ⋯ The mean EQ-5D-5L score at follow-up showed a significant increase of 0.18 points compared with that at admission (P < .05). In the follow-up survey on PGIC, 307 participants (90.56%) were "minimally improved" or better. Integrative KM treatment can help improve pain, functional impairment, and long-term quality of life in patients with traumatic fractures.

This study aimed to examine the frequency of fibromyalgia (FM) in patients with lung cancer and evaluate its effect on patients' pain, sleep quality, fatigue, and quality of life parameters. The study was designed as a prospective cross-sectional and a total of 116 lung cancer patients were included. FM classification was made according to the 2016 ACR criteria. ⋯ A statistically significant difference was found between FM positive and negative groups in FIQ, multidimensional assessment of fatigue, JSS, EQ-5D, visual analog scale, and Beck depression inventory scores. FM is seen more frequently in patients with lung cancer and has a negative effect on sleep, quality of life, fatigue, and mental functions. We think that physicians should not ignore the presence of FM when treating patients diagnosed with lung cancer.
