The cardiopulmonary function of patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is significantly lower than that of patients with simple snoring and is significantly related to the severity of OSA. Currently, only a few studies have been conducted on cardiopulmonary exercise testing in overweight patients with OSA. ⋯ Changes in CPET indices occurred earlier than changes in resting pulmonary function in patients with OSA. CPET might be a potential method for evaluating the severity of OSA combined with overweight status.

Patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) have heterogeneous outcomes. As risk stratification mostly focuses on left-side myocardial function, we sought to investigate the prognostic value of right ventricular (RV) function in patients with HCM. ⋯ RV function assessed by TAPSE or RV free wall strain is predictive of subsequent cardiac events, suggesting that a comprehensive evaluation of RV function is useful for risk stratification in patients with HCM.

To investigate the effect and efficacy of traditional Chinese and western medicine combined with lung rehabilitation training on pulmonary function in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) complicated with chronic cor pulmonale. ⋯ Traditional Chinese and western medicine combined with lung rehabilitation training displayed better results on lung function and curative effect than conventional western medicine combined with lung rehabilitation training in patients with COPD complicated with chronic cor pulmonale (Tab. 8, Ref. 43). Circular RNAs (circRNAs), a class of non-coding RNAs, has been proved as an essential driver of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) progression. However, the aim of this study is to explore the role of hsa_circ_0097009 (circ_0097009) in HCC progression. ⋯ We found that circ_0097009 and RNF38 expressions were markedly higher, but miR-568 expression was significantly lower in HCC. Circ_0097009 knockdown blocked HCC cell cloning, proliferation, migration, invasion, angiogenesis and facilitated apoptosis. MiR-568 was a target of circ_0097009 in HCC cells. MiR-568 interference could attenuate the circ_0097009 knockdown-induced inhibition on HCC cells progress. MiR-568 depressed cell clonal formation, proliferation, migration, invasion, angiogenesis and promotion of apoptosis, by targeting RNF38, and RNF38 overexpression reversed the suppression of miR-568 in HCC cells. Also, circ_0097009 knockdown blocked tumor growth in vivoCONCLUSION: Together, this study indicated that the oncogenic function of circ_0097009 in HCC, and circ_0097009/miR-568/RNF38 axis was expected to be a novel therapeutic option for HCC patients (Tab. 1, Fig. 7, Ref. 33).
