The outbreak of COVID-19 challenged the global health system and specifically impacted the emergency departments (EDs). Studying the quality indicators of ED care under COVID-19 has been a necessary task, and ED revisits have been used as an indicator to monitor ED performance. ⋯ Patients with 72-h ED revisits showed distinct demographic and clinical patterns before and after the COVID-19 epidemic; the COVID-19 period was an independent predictor of increased inhospital mortality.

Review[Drug therapy interventions for acute SARS-CoV-2 infection: who, when, and what?]
There is a variety of drug therapy options for treatment of acute SARS-CoV-2 infections. The updated S3 guideline "Recommendations for inpatient therapy of patients with COVID-19" provides clear recommendations in this regard. Which therapy is best suited for which patient and in which phase of the disease must be decided individually based on risk factors, comorbidities and contraindications. This article provides an overview.

"I Am Not the Same Man…": A Case Report of Management of Post-COVID Refractory Dyspnea.
The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic brings with it a significant number of post-COVID symptoms, including persistent dyspnea and neuropsychological sequelae. The palliative approach in the treatment of these refractory symptoms is effective and widely applicable in different settings. ⋯ The application of different tools of the palliative approach proved to be effective: a detailed advanced care planning and open communication, the respect for the patient's wishes and optimal use of his resources-the salutogenesis- an adaptation of the rhythm of care to that of the patient. The patient was then discharged for rehabilitation, and finally returned home.

Review[The French Armed Forces Biomedical Research Institute (IRBA) and wastewater-based epidemiology: Applicability and relevance in armed forces].
The French Armed Forces Biomedical Research Institute (IRBA) deeply involved in research on SARS-COV-2, participated in the creation of the Obépine sentinel network in charge of detecting, qualifying and quantifying the virus genome in wastewater in France. During this pandemic, wastewater-based epidemiology has proven to be a first class public health tool for assessing viral dynamics in populations and environment. Obépine has also conducted research demonstrating the low infectivity of faeces and wastewater and allowed for early detection of epidemic waves linked to new variants. ⋯ The presence of this surveillance and anticipation tool has allowed a better management of SARS-CoV-2 contingent introductions on board during stopovers or crewmembers entries. The combination of a mandatory vaccination protocol and the surveillance of viral circulation in black waters has made it possible to identify and locate cases, and thus to continue the operational mission in the COVID-19 environment while limiting the spread and preserving the health of the crew. This innovative tool can easily be redirected to the search for any other pathogens in blackwater or even, in the long term, to ensure health surveillance of any military establishment, at sea or on land, in France or on overseas bases.
