TransplantationSESSION TYPE: Slide PresentationsPRESENTED ON: Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 12:15 PM - 01:15 PMPURPOSE: Maintenance immunosuppression regimens to prevent lung allograft rejection include a calcineurin inhibitor (tacrolimus or cyclosporine A), which can gradually cause renal damage and impaired function, and other factors (diabetes or systemic hypertension), if present, can also contribute to progressive renal insufficiency. Lung transplant (LTX) recipients who develop profound renal dysfunction due to Stage IV kidney disease may be candidates for orthotopic kidney transplantation. We conducted a chart review to evaluate the outcomes of patients who underwent renal transplantation (RTX) for end-stage renal insufficiency associated with prior LTX to determine safety and efficacy and to identify significant complications. ⋯ The following authors have nothing to disclose: Ted McMenomy, Mehgan Holland, Keith MeyerNo Product/Research Disclosure Information.
