Primary dysmenorrhea (PD) occurs during menstrual cramps, and there is currently no pathological evidence. This disease severely affects the daily lives of young women. Acupuncture (ACU) and moxibustion are an excellent way to relieve the pain of patients with PD. And it has been widely utilizing. However, the effectiveness and safety of ACU and moxibustion in treating patients with PD are not confirmed by a high-quality meta-analysis. This work aims to evaluate ACU's efficacy and safety with or without moxibustion in the management of PD. ⋯ The results of our study expect to provide high-quality, evidence-based recommendations on further treatment for clinicians.

Comparison of efficacies of unipedicular kyphoplasty and bipedicular kyphoplasty for treatment of single-level osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures: A STROBE-compliant retrospective study.
Kyphoplasty (KP) is an effective method for treating osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCFs). Although the bipedicular approach is considered the main treatment approach, the unipedicular approach has also been shown to be effective. This study aimed to retrospectively compare the radiological and clinical outcomes of unipedicular and bipedicular KP in the treatment of single-level OVCFs. ⋯ Unipedicular and bipedicular KP significantly reduced the pain experienced by patients with single-level OVCF, restored vertebral height, and corrected the KA, which remained stable for at least 1 year after treatment. Unipedicular KP required lower amounts of cement than bipedicular KP and was as effective as bipedicular KP in terms of radiological and clinical outcomes. The results of this study have level three evidence and grade B recommendation.

Consistency between back pain intensity and degenerative changes on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the lumbar spine is poor. This study aimed to show whether tender point (TP) examination, used as a test for diffuse central sensitization, may add valuable information to clinical assessment of patients with low back pain (LBP). This was a cross-sectional study including 141 patients with LBP on sick leave. ⋯ Men with >7-8 TPs and women with >10-11 TPs had more back pain and similar or fewer degenerative changes than patients with few TPs (<3 and <6 TPs, respectively), thereby identifying 34% to 44% of patients with nonspecific LBP and 5% to 8% of patients with radiculopathy, respectively, with disproportionate back pain in relation to degenerative changes. Supplemental TP examination improved clinical and MRI evaluation of patients with LBP. By using gender-specific cut points, patients with disproportionate back pain were identified, presumably indicating diffuse central sensitization.

Rheumatoid arthritis has the characteristics of slow progression, long course, and repeated attacks. At present, western medicine commonly used in clinical practice not only reduces pain and improves symptoms, but also has more adverse reactions, affecting the health, and life of patients. In ancient China, Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu decoction was used by doctors to treat rheumatoid arthritis, with remarkable effect. In recent years, many clinical studies have also shown that Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu decoction has reliable effect in treating rheumatoid arthritis, but there is no evidence of evidence-based medicine. Therefore, this study aims to systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu decoction in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/RZY3V.

Surgery is the most common and effective therapy for anal fistula, while the postoperative complication, such as pain, edema, pruritus, turgescence, and exudation in surgical wound, can have serious impact on wound healing and patients' quality of life. Chinese herbal fumigant and lotion have been commonly used in postoperative treatment and achieved satisfied effect in China. However, clinical evidence-based literature of Chinese herbal fumigant and lotion for postoperative anal fistula is not sufficient. This protocol is described for a systematic review to investigate the beneficial effects. ⋯ CRD42020164975.
