Evidence regarding the use of Korean medicine (KM) for the conservative treatment of meniscus tears remains lacking. We aimed to evaluate clinical effectiveness and long-term follow-up outcomes in patients undergoing integrative KM treatment for meniscus tears. We analyzed the electronic medical records (EMRs) of 86 patients with meniscus tears and administered a follow-up survey. ⋯ The WOMAC decreased by an average of 15.52 (95% CI: 10.14-20.89) during hospital stay and 30.72 (95% CI: 24.58-36.87) at follow-up. The EQ-5D score increased by an average of 0.06 (95% CI: -0.14 to 0.02) at discharge and 0.19 (95% CI: -0.29 to -0.09) at follow up. KM treatment effectively reduced knee pain, improved knee joint function, and enhanced the quality of life in patients with a meniscus tear for a relatively long period after treatment.

This study aimed to analyze the clinical characteristics of Gynura segetum (Tusanqi)-induced hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome (HSOS) and the benefits and risks of anticoagulant therapy for Tusanqi-induced HSOS. This was a retrospective analysis of 49 patients with Tusanqi-induced HSOS who were treated with anticoagulation or standard therapy between July 2006 and December 2022. Clinical manifestations included abdominal pain (n = 47) and peritoneal or pleural effusion (n = 46); 2 patients died. ⋯ Bleeding complications occurred in 6 patients in the anticoagulant treatment group. Early diagnosis and anticoagulant treatment are beneficial for rapid recovery after Tusanqi-induced HSOS. However, anticoagulant treatment is associated with the risk of multisite bleeding.

Application effect of behavioral cognition combined with psychological intervention on orthodontic patients: A prospective, randomized, controlled trial.
To explore the application effect of behavioral cognition combined with psychological intervention in orthodontic patients, so as to provide new ideas for clinical nursing of orthodontic patients. The 70 patients with orthodontic treatment were divided into 2 groups: the control group and the nursing group. Control group received routine clinical intervention, was treated with the normal clinical intervention, while nursing group was treated with behavior cognition and psychology intervention. ⋯ At 12 months after intervention, the nursing group scored lower than the control group on the Hamilton Anxiety Scale and the Hamilton Depression Scale (P < .05), and the score of Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile-II was higher than that in the control group (P < .05). After intervention, the degree of gum swelling and pain in 2 group were notably relieved, and the alleviation degree of nursing group was better than that of control group (P < .05). Compared with normal clinical intervention, the behavioral cognition combined with psychological intervention have obvious improvement in mental state and health behavior of orthodontic patients, and can reduce the symptoms of gum swelling and pain, promote the recovery of gum, showing high clinical application value in improving the gingival health of patients.

Role of wet-cupping therapy in physiological and mental pains in patients with migraine: A quasi-clinical trial.
There is growing evidence of the potential benefits of wet-cupping therapy in reducing physiological pain severity in migraine; however, the role of this therapy on mental pain is unclear in this process. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the effectiveness of wet-cupping therapy on physiological and mental pains in patients with migraine. In this study, 72 migraine patients were treated with wet-cupping therapy and followed up after 1 month. ⋯ This study showed that the physiological pain was controlled by the mental pain in the wet-cupping therapy.

Degenerative cervical radiculopathy (DCR) can lead to severe pain, paraesthesia, and/or motor weakness, resulting in significant morbidity, disability, and reduced quality of life. Typically, individuals suffer from prolonged symptoms, with time to complete recovery spanning months to years. Little is known about the impact DCR has on peoples' lives. ⋯ Participants described the uncertainty they experienced as a result of the unpredictable nature of DCR and the important role that health care providers play in their journey with DCR. Health care providers were seen acting as either a facilitator or a barrier to their recovery. The findings from this study can be used by clinicians providing patient-centered care to better understand the experiences of people with DCR.
