Evaluation of children's anthropometrics poses challenges due to age-related changes. The main focus is on height and weight. However, since weight is height-dependent, body mass index (BMI) is the best surrogate measurement of adiposity. Israel has not developed national growth tables; therefore, researchers and clinicians utilize either World Health Organization (WHO) or U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) tables as benchmarks. ⋯ Israeli children were slightly shorter toward the age of final height, compared to WHO and CDC. However, BMI in Israeli children was significantly higher compared to the CDC and WHO consistently along the age range, which raises an alarm regarding obesity patterns.

Association between Intercanine Width and Mandibular Dental Arch Forms.
A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted to investigate the association between intercanine width and the mandibular arch form in 109 dentate subjects, who visited Orthodontics Department from October 2018 to December 2019. Using Vernier caliper, the intercanine width was measured as the distance between the left and right canines on each cast with the arch form, also categorized as tapered, square or ovoid, using predefined criteria. Spearman's rank correlation demonstrated highly significant association between intercanine width and mandibular dental arch forms, with p value of 0.005. Key Words: Dentate subjects, Mandibular arch forms, Inter-canine width, Sexual dimorphism, Mandibular dental cast.

[Functional Exams in the gastroenterology - new developments and tips for the common practice].
The functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs) have a high prevalence and are associated with high healthcare costs. The diagnosis of these diseases could be difficult and require func-tional tests such as high-resolution manometry (HRM) of the esophagus, anorectal manometry and H2-Breathtests. ⋯ The HRM of the esophagus is the diagnostic standard for Achalasia, a rare clinical condi-tion associated to dysphagia - new European guidelines suggests a safe strategy in perform-ing the pneumatic dilatation. The intestinal methanogen overgrowth (IMO) is a clinical condition caused by a high production of methane in the small intestine due to overgrowth of Methanobrevibacter smithii, this condition could be in some patients associated with irritable bowel syndrome.

Correlation between Circulating Tumor Cells and Plasma D-dimer and Clinicopathological Characteristics of Patients with Non-small Cell Lung Cancer.
To study the relationship between circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and plasma D-dimer (D-D) and their correlation with clinicopathological characteristics of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). ⋯ The levels of CTCs and D-D in peripheral blood of NSCLC patients are significantly correlated with clinicopathological features, and the positive CTCs and high levels of D-D may indicate the late stage of the disease and poor prognosis, and there is a correlation between the two. The combined detection of the two is of great significance in predicting the progress and poor prognosis of NSCLC patients, and can guide the clinical diagnosis and treatment. Key Words: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), Circulating tumor cells (CTCs), D-dimer (D-D), Clinicopathologic features.
