Male sperm quality and risk of recurrent spontaneous abortion in Chinese couples: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
To assess the association of conventional semen parameters and sperm DNA fragmentation with risk of recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA). ⋯ The results of this analysis support an association of sperm density, sperm viability, sperm progressive motility rate, normal sperm morphology rate, sperm deformity rate, as well as sperm DFI with RSA. However, given the significant heterogeneity between studies and the lack of more detailed data on the subjects, further large-scale prospective studies are needed.

We sought to analyze the current situation of personnel training and scientific research regarding pharmacy intravenous admixture services (PIVAS), to provide evidence-based medical knowledge to inform personnel training for PIVAS in mainland China. A cross-sectional survey was used to examine the current status of PIVAS personnel training, research capabilities, needs, and research output of PIVAS personnel based from the perspective of leaders in PIVAS in China. The survey period was from March to April 2019. ⋯ There were no significant differences in the training of PIVAS personnel and scientific research between different provinces and hospital levels. The training content of PIVAS personnel in China was found to be relatively rich, but management tools, career development, and training in scientific research were found to be relatively weak, and the scientific research output was very low. It is necessary to build a comprehensive training system for career development among PIVAS personnel.

Quadrilateral space syndrome (QSS) is a peripheral nerve entrapment disease, which can be misdiagnosed in clinic. In the past, QSS was mainly diagnosed by clinical symptoms combined with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), electromyography (EMG), and arterial angiography. There are few reports on the diagnosis of QSS by musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSKUS) combined with clinical symptoms. ⋯ MSKUS is an effective method to diagnose QSS. It is fast, convenient and inexpensive, and is worth popularizing in clinic.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has emerged in the Asia-Pacific area over the past 2 decades. There is a paucity of clinical data regarding real-world experience of patients with IBD from low endemic area such as Taiwan. Therefore, the present study aimed to review the clinical features of patients with IBD form a tertiary center from Taiwan. ⋯ A trend of decreased bowel resection for patients with IBD and less severe phenotype of patients with CD were observed after 2015. UC with male predominance was the predominant type of IBD in the study. Patients with CD are likely to have a complicated disease course, requiring a higher demand of biologic therapy than patients with UC.
