Comparative Study
Comparison of rotational atherectomy and modified balloons prior to drug-eluting stent implantation for the treatment of heavily calcified coronary lesions.
The optimal strategy for lesion preparation in heavily calcified coronary lesions (HCCL) prior to drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation remains debatable. This study sought to compare the performance of rotational atherectomy (RA) and modified balloon (MB)-based strategy in patients with HCCL receiving current-generation DES. This retrospective study comprised 564 consecutive patients who underwent RA (n = 229) or MB (n = 335) for HCCL at our hospital and were treated with DES. ⋯ After adjusting for potential confounding variables, RA was significantly associated with TLR (HR 0.32, 95% 0.12-0.853, P = .023), but no longer significantly associated with MACE (HR 0.674, 95% 0.329-1.381, P = .282). In patients with HCCL, lesion preparation with RA was safe and could improve strategy success rate. There was lower rate of TLR with RA, however, no significant difference was found in the MACE rate at 1-year follow-up between RA and MB-based strategy.

Comorbidities' potential impacts on severe and non-severe patients with COVID-19: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
An ongoing outbreak of pneumonia associated with the severe acute respiratory coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) emerged in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. Epidemiologic evidence suggests that patients with comorbidities and novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection may have poor survival outcomes. However, the risk of these coexisting medical conditions in severe and non-severe cases has not been systematically reported. ⋯ This meta-analysis supports the finding that chronic comorbidities may contribute to severe outcome in patients with COVID-19. According to the findings of the present study, old age and 2 or more comorbidities are significantly impactful to COVID-19 outcomes in hospitalized patients in China.

Although single organ vasculitis (SOV) is a rare occurrence and it is difficult to diagnose, its possibility as a cause of fever of unknown origin (FUO) must be considered. Recently, the usefulness of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography computed tomography (FDG PET/CT) in the diagnosis of unknown fevers due to vasculitis, especially in cases of small and medium-sized vasculitis, has begun to be pointed out. ⋯ SOV presenting with unspecific local symptoms is difficult to diagnose based on the medical history and clinical examination. Our findings show that early "Combination of PET-CT and biopsy" can be a powerful diagnostic tool in patients with FUO for whom diagnosis of the underlying cause is difficult despite appropriate clinical examination.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Effectiveness and safety of ear acupuncture for allergic rhinitis: A protocol of randomized controlled trial.
Allergic rhinitis is a global problem. About 10% to 40% of the global population is affected by allergic rhinitis and is on the rise, which has a significant health and economic impact on society. Ear acupuncture is a non-invasive acupuncture therapy, which has been used in the treatment of allergic rhinitis, and some positive results have been reported, but there is not enough evidence to prove its efficacy and safety. ⋯ The results of this study will determine the efficacy and safety of ear acupuncture in the treatment of allergic rhinitis and provide a basis for promoting the application of ear acupuncture in the treatment of allergic rhinitis.

Case Reports
Clinicopathological characteristics of primary peritoneal epithelioid mesothelioma of clear cell type: A case report.
Primary peritoneal epithelioid mesothelioma of clear cell type is an extremely rare entity composed of clear cytoplasm. It is challenging to diagnose because of the morphological resemblance to clear cell tumor. ⋯ Primary peritoneal epithelioid mesothelioma of clear cell type needs to be differentiated from a variety of clear cell tumors. This disease is characterized by specific genetic alteration. Whole-exome sequencing contributes to guide individualized therapy. CRS-HIPEC helps achieve long-term overall survival.
