High incidence of chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) has been a major drawback of matched sibling donor peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (MSD -PBSCT). This study aimed to investigate the safety and efficacy of antithymocyte globulin (ATG) as a standardized part of GVHD prophylaxis in patients receiving MSD -PBSCT. ⋯ These data suggested that rabbit antithymocyte globulin in the current protocol for GVHD prophylaxis was well tolerable and efficacious. The clinical trial was registered on January 1, 2016 (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier NCT02677181). https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02677181.

Retroperitoneal echinococcosis (RE) is a rare condition that is associated with a high mortality and disability rate. It is associated with a high rate of misdiagnosis, a high risk of surgery, and is extremely difficult to manage. There is no uniform standard for determining the exact form of surgical method and the timing of surgery. ⋯ Our analysis found that radical resection is the first line of treatment of RE, although non-radical surgery can benefit most patients. It is important to emphasize the importance of the first round of surgery, particularly in cases involving hepatic echinococcosis. If the lesion can be removed radically during the first round of surgery, then radical surgery should be performed.

Clinical application of enhanced recovery after surgery in the treatment of choledocholithiasis by ERCP.
This study aims to investigate the effect of applying enhanced recovery after surgery methods (ERAS) in perioperative nursing of choledocholithiasis following endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) for treatment of biliary calculus. Clinical data from 161 patients who underwent ERCP surgery in Wuhan Union Hospital from January 2017 to December 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. A total of 78 patients received perioperative nursing using the ERAS concept (experimental group) and 83 patients received conventional perioperative nursing (control group). ⋯ Compared with the control group, nasobiliary drainage time (26.53 ± 7.43 hours vs 37.56 ± 9.91 hours, P < .001), hospital stay (8.32 ± 1.55 days vs 4.56 ± 1.38 days, P < .001), and hospitalization expenses (36800 ± 11900 Yuan vs 28900 ± 6500 Yuan, P = .016) were significantly lower in the experimental group. ERAS is a safe and effective perioperative nursing application in ERCP for treating choledocholithiasis. It can effectively accelerate patients' recovery and reduce the incidence of complications; therefore, it is worthy of being applied and promoted in clinical nursing.

This study aimed to describe the effects of a 90-minute group-based constraint-induced movement therapy protocol (CIMT) on upper extremity (UE) rehabilitation in poststroke patients. ⋯ The 90-minute CIMT protocol resulted in significant improvements in use of the more affected arm in activities of daily living during the 2-week protocol. Additional research with a larger sample and a control group is needed to confirm its effectiveness.

Novel oxidative stress-related prognostic biomarkers for melanoma associated with tumor metastasis.
Skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM) is a prevalent skin cancer whose metastatic form is dangerous due to its high morbidity and mortality. Previous studies have systematically established the vital role of oxidative stress (OS) in melanoma progression. This study aimed to identify prognostic OS genes closely associated with SKCM and illustrate their potential mechanisms. ⋯ Furthermore, our risk model demonstrated improved diagnostic accuracy in the Cancer Genome Atlas and Gene Expression Omnibus cohorts. In addition, we established 2 nomograms based on either risk score or hub genes, which displayed favorable discriminating ability for SKCM. Our results provide novel insight into the potential applications of OS-associated genes in SKCM.
