Observational Study
Serum pentraxin-3 as a potential biomarker for diagnosis and prognosis in primary liver cancer: An observational study.
This study aimed to examine serum pentraxin 3 levels in patients with primary liver cancer and to assess its potential as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker. Serum samples were obtained from 180 patients with primary liver cancer and 180 healthy control subjects. The concentration of PTX3 in these samples was measured using an ELISA kit. ⋯ Serum PTX3 levels are elevated in patients with primary liver cancer and high serum PTX3 levels are associated with poor prognosis. This suggests that serum PTX3 has the potential to be a novel biomarker for both the diagnosis and prognosis of primary liver cancer. These findings may improve patient outcomes by enabling early detection and continuous monitoring.

Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a B-lymphotropic double-stranded DNA virus. Most people infected with EBV are asymptomatic infection. Its clinical symptoms are rarely manifested as EBV encephalitis, and peripheral nerve damage is even rarer. ⋯ In patients with signs of encephalitis, cerebrospinal fluid NGS should be used as early as possible to confirm the diagnosis of EBV encephalitis. Timely and accurate treatment of central nervous system infections is expected to reduce the mortality rate and improve the quality of life of patients in later stages.

Preterm birth is a significant public health concern. To achieve a growth trajectory consistent with the genetic law, a catch-up growth strategy must be adopted for these infants to achieve normal growth and development. The aim of this study is to investigate the use requirements of a WeChat mini program-based post-discharge catch-up growth follow-up management system for the parents of preterm infants. ⋯ The factors that influence the demand for WeChat mini program functions for managing the catch-up growth of preterm infants after discharge include occupation, education level, family structure, number of births, residential area, and frequency of using WeChat (P < .05). The demand for the WeChat mini program for post-discharge catch-up growth management among parents of preterm babies is high. The contents and functions of the WeChat mini program can be further enriched and improved to meet the needs of parents of preterm infants of different birth ages.

This study employs bibliometric techniques to dynamically represent the research landscape of oral and maxillofacial neuralgia. Its goal is to pinpoint research hotspots and delineate forthcoming trends. A systematic search of the Web of Science Core Collection was performed using targeted keywords to retrieve literature from January 2004 to December 2023. ⋯ The emergence of keywords closely correlates with trigeminal neuralgia. Research frontiers in the field of oral and maxillofacial neuralgia are primarily focused on trigeminal neuralgia, with major therapeutic approaches including gamma knife radiosurgery and percutaneous balloon compression. These areas, along with botulinum toxin, represent current hotpots and are likely to drive the future direction of research in treating oral and maxillofacial neuralgia.

Numerous studies have demonstrated a correlation between asthma and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The Chinese herbal compound Shaoyao Gancao Tang (SYGCT) has been found to have therapeutic effects on both asthma and IBS, but the underlying mechanisms are not yet fully understood. This study aims to explore the key components, key targets, and potential mechanisms of SYGCT in treating asthma with IBS by using network pharmacology, molecular docking techniques and molecular dynamics simulation. ⋯ SYGCT plays a therapeutic role in asthma and IBS through multiple targets and pathways, providing a theoretical basis for explaining the mechanism and clinical application of SYGCT in treating different diseases with the same treatment in asthma and IBS.
