Holistic health care considers all aspects of patient care, namely the physical, psychological, spiritual, and social aspects. To assess which patient needs are unmet, a screening questionnaire covering the four aforementioned aspects is required. Therefore, the Sheffield Profile for Assessment and Referral for Care (SPARC), a multidimensional, self-reported questionnaire designed to screen patients regardless of diagnosis, was developed. This study developed a translated and validated traditional Chinese version of the SPARC for patients in Taiwan. ⋯ This study revealed that the SPARC-T is an effective tool for screening Mandarin-speaking patients. Thus, it can be used in hospitals to holistically screen and identify the needs of patients to ensure they can receive appropriate professional support and holistic health care.

This study aimed to assess the predictive value of macrophage colony-stimulating factor (M-CSF) in the first trimester for hypertensive disorders complicating pregnancy (HDCP) and its association with disease severity and adverse pregnancy outcomes. HDCP pose significant risks to both maternal health and fetal health. M-CSF is implicated in the pathogenesis of HDCP by promoting inflammation and endothelial damage. ⋯ Early detection and monitoring of M-CSF levels could aid in identifying high-risk pregnancies and implementing appropriate interventions to improve maternal and fetal outcomes.

Both infliximab (IFX) and fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) have shown the efficacy for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). However, there has no head-to-head study on the cost-value of the such treatments on IBD. This study aimed to compare the medical costs using IFX and the new method of FMT (washed microbiota transplantation [WMT]) in the long-term management for IBD under the current health economic condition in China. ⋯ This study demonstrated that WMT could dramatically reduce the cost and duration of hospitalizations in the long-term sustainment in the current Chinese IBD cohort. Compared with IFX, WMT could be a good way for the patients with IBD achieving long-term sustainment and saving medical costs.

Quality of life for androgen receptor targeted agents in patients with metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer.
Few studies have evaluated health-related quality of life (HRQoL) with abiraterone acetate plus prednisone (abiraterone) compared to enzalutamide in metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). So, this study aimed to assess impact of abiraterone and enzalutamide on patients´ functioning in mCRPC real-world setting. ⋯ According to the results of this study, abiraterone and enzalutamide had a comparable impact on quality of life in chemo-naive mCRPC in routine practice (Tab. 4, Fig. 4, Ref. 23). The Arctic region's unfavorable living conditions adversely affect the spread of infectious diseases, including COVID-19, This, in turn, can also lead to increased morbidity and mortality rates in the area due to a number of factors such as climate, environment, and high prevalence rate of pre-existing health issues like diabetes, obesity, and respiratory infections. These circumstances adversely affect maintaining the level of working capability. The aim of this paper is to investigate the ratio of immunocompetent cells involved in the adaptive post-COVID-19 immune response. ⋯ Specifically, individuals with initially robust phagocytic activity may be predisposed to experiencing a milder form of the infection. However, this assumption warrants further investigation and clarification in individuals with moderate and severe disease progression (Tab. 1, Ref. 17). Keywords: arctic, COVID-19, cytotoxic t-lymphocytes, apoptosis, lymphoproliferation, cellular immunity, phagocytic activity.
