Military nurses comprise the largest percentage of military health care providers. In the current military health care system, they have two roles: (1) Patient care in military treatment facilities (MTFs) and (2) patient care during combat operations. Although in MTFs, the military nurse's roles are similar to those of their civilian counterpart, their roles are unique and varied in the combat operational environment. These combined roles lead to questions regarding readiness training to ensure that nurses are proficient in both MTFs and combat operational settings where treatment requirements may differ. The purpose of this paper is to (1) present the current state of educational readiness programs to maintain a ready medical force that entail formal teaching programs, military-civilian partnerships, and joint exercises of combat simulations, and (2) identify gaps as presented in an evidence-based practice educational panel. ⋯ Enhanced communication of evidence-based training and knowledge is an important component of maintaining a ready medical force for broader medical support of combat contingency operations.

In this research, it was aimed to examine relationship between regional inequalities in the provision of emergency health services and other health services in Turkey. The values of the number of emergency services and the population per emergency service for the years 2002-2021 were taken from the most up-to-date database published by the Ministry of Health in 2022 and were chosen as the dependent variables of the study. The "regional price level indices for consumption expenditures (PLI)" and "gross domestic product per capita, Statistical Regions Level 2 (PcGDP)" data compiled by TURKSTAT were used as independent variables. ⋯ Maraş, Osmaniye) (r = -0.749; P < .01), TR72 (Kayseri, Sivas, Yozgat) (r = -0.719; P < .01), TR83 (Samsun, Tokat, Çorum, Amasya) (r = 0.873; P < .01), TRA2 (Ağri, Kars, Iğdir, Ardahan) (r = -0.873; P < .01), TRB2 (Van, Muş, Bitlis, Hakkari) (r = -0.736; P < .01), TRC2 (Şanliurfa, Diyarbakir) (r = 0.697; P < .01), and TRC3 (Mardin, Batman, Şirnak, Siirt) (r = 0.574; P < .01). In total, 11 of 26 were significantly correlated with inequalities. Although the number of emergency services has increased since 2002 and the population density per emergency room has tended to decrease, regional inequalities also have an impact on the delivery of emergency services today.

Minocycline in depression not responding to first-line therapy: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Major depressive disorder is often resistant to first-line treatment, with around 30% failing to respond to traditional therapy. Treatment-resistant depression results in prolonged hospitalization and healthcare costs. Anti-inflammatory drugs have shown promising results in depression not responding to initial therapy. Minocycline has anti-inflammatory properties and crosses the blood-brain barrier. It has demonstrated varied results in several randomized controlled trials (RCTs). ⋯ CRD42023398476 (PROSPERO).

This narrative review discusses the effects of implementing command centers, centralized management systems, supported by information technology, predictive analytics, and real-time data, as well as small-scale centralized operating systems, on patient outcomes, operation, care delivery, and resource utilization. Implementations of command centers and small-scale centralized operating systems have led to improvement in 3 areas: integration of both multiple services into the day-to-day operation, communication and coordination, and employment of prediction and early warning system. Additional studies are required to understand the full impact of command centers on the healthcare system.

Leuconostoc mesenteroides subsp. strain NTM048 ameliorated nasal symptoms in patients with Japan cedar pollinosis: Randomized, double-blind, and placebo-controlled trial.
Lactobacillales including L mesenteroides have beneficial effects on human health, including improvement of psychological status and alleviation of allergic rhinitis. In mice, L mesenteroides subsp. strain NTM048 (NTM048) increased intestinal s-IgA. In humans, however, the effects of NTM048 on s-IgA secretion have been unclear. ⋯ The amount of s-IgA in saliva was not increased by NTM048, but nasal blockage was improved by it. Psychological status might be improved if dosage of NTM048 is raised to the degree that NTM048 might be increased in the intestinal tract.
