AbstractThis review provides a comprehensive outline of radiation issues in the high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) scans obtained for the diagnosis and follow-up of diffuse lung disease. Specifically, the evidence indicating risk from the radiation at the level used in HRCT, recommended dose levels for HRCT, radiation dose reduction strategies, and suggested protocols are discussed.
