AbstractThe ultimate cure for the tendon pathology continues to elude current science. Despite great steps in technology, the causation and treatment is still not clear. The number of different theories and treatment modalities in the literature may confuse clinicians and patients. In this paper we outline the definitions, evolution of pathogenesis and treatment for tendinopathy. By highlighting these, the aim of this paper is to guide the practitioner in counselling and treating their patients.© Author(s) (or their employer(s)) 2020. No commercial re-use.
