AbstractAdverse systemic reactions such as cardiovascular effects may occur following topical ocular application of phenylephrine. We report the case of a 49-year-old woman who, following topical application of phenylephrine eyedrops, experienced hypertension with electrocardiographic modifications and a rise in cardiac troponin Ic.Copyright © 2013.
