AbstractThe infrastructure, focus and modus operandi of the Canadian Orthopaedic Association (COA) has been changed to effectively address the needs of the Association in this new century, as well as the possibility of a diminished interest in orthopedic surgery as a career choice. These issues are dealt with in this COA presidential address given at the COA annual general meeting in June 2001.
