AbstractState-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) protocol for the evaluation of rectal cancer suggests only T2-weighted fast spin-echo sequences. We present a case of rectal cancer with a simultaneous presacral myelolipoma that could have been misdiagnosed on MRI as a metastasis if a T1-weighted sequence had not also been used in the evaluation.
