AbstractA short review of some of the newer indicator dilution techniques is presented to illustrate their potential usefulness in the study of acute illness. The advantage of these methods lies in the increased ease of obtaining fundamental data from the patient. In particular, roentgen videodensitometry and videotape recording show great promise for the near future.
